1 Reviews of the Fjallraven Akka R/S 3

By: The Bimblers  Reason: I own(ed) one  Made in: 2008   Rating:

At about £350 to 400 for a relatively small tent it might be regarded as expensive but of the tents I have had over the past decades, this is the best.

Small and light enough to carry in a backpack but big enough for comfortable weekend use.

For ease it is far easier to have two to erect it (one is perfectly do-able but, obviously, takes longer) and we have put the tent up in 60 mph winds and driving rain (Skye!). The tent was useable within 3 minutes and stayed up despite the winds which, we were told, reached gusts of 90mph.

In bad weather it has a big enough apse that cooking and living is perfectly reasonable.

Worth every penny.

Manufacturer's Description

Manufacturer - Fjallraven.

Model name - Akka R/S 3

Type - Tunnel tent.

Season - 4

Web Site - www.fjallraven.com

A stable, secure three-person tent with an extra large apse. Plenty of space for your pack, cooking food and activities when the weather is bad. The construction and design make the tent perfect for year-round use. Three equal length poles, low-friction pole sleeves and easily adjustable foxfeet make the tent easy to handle. The outer and inner tents are raised at the same time, which means that the tent can be pitched easily, even in bad weather. Mosquito netting at the openings and ventilation on both short sides increase air circulation in the tent.
