I've owned my wonderful Vango orange Force 10 tent for about 30 years. I can't recall how much it cost now, but do recall thinking it was quite pricey.However.Paid for itself time & time again over the decades. No regrets on the outlay. The main tent has a strong fitted groundsheet on a canvas inner tent & strong man made fabric outer tent. The aluminium poles have springs inside (one has broken over the years, but no worries)& the whole tent can easily be put up single handed in less than 10 mins (nearer 5.Even if weather is inclement) I estimate. The tent has been re-proofed any times over the years, & is still extremely water repellent, comfy, spacious for 1 or 2, (3 in extremis), plus dog & luggage bits. Several years after buying the main tent, I bought an extension (no fitted groundsheet), which is one layer (man made fabric). This is great when there's more luggage or wet coats (or dog!). The tent isn't light, but it's easy to manage in a car. The tent is sturdy (great in the wind), reliable & I love waking up in the orange light. Although I'm sure I could 'upgrade', I wouldn't want to. This is a great tent. Thanks Vango!

Mine is the modern version without the mushroom feet and it has the D entry to the inner.

It comes with nice lightweight polished alloy poles and a short length of spare tubing. The standard plastic apex which hasn't seemed to have changed. Pegs are wire alloy but there are four Alu Y section pegs for the guys. I have bought more Y section pegs to replace the wire jobs.

Gone are the mushroom feet. The bottoms of the poles have a spike which goes in a grommet at each corner of the inner. The inner has a D shaped door which is different but the gs seems as robust as in the past. The new pole layout means I can move the inner once pitched rather like a dome tent.

This is a CN so it has a nylon fly. The inner attaches to the fly with elastic and a C clip. This should pull the inner when the side guys are tightened. However there is too much give. The c clip is on a long nylon loop. When clipped to the elastic it just hangs and doesn't draw out the sides of the inner. I will have to modify this. This attachment is different from the old force tens. Also different is the absence of rubbers. Now there is shockcord. Easier to replace.

It also comes with a repair kit containing one of each of the plastic bits, a shockcord loop, two material patches a short length of guyline. It doesn't include a C clip for the ridge pole.

Space inside is perfect for two with the cosy cotton inner and very orange. The front porch is ample for a bit of sheltered cooking but a Vango adventure tarp will fit on the front pole spike for more shelter.

All in all, very pleased with this tent. It has taken me years to get one and will have it for years to come

Used this ageing, like me, tent for many years. Would hate to back pack with it, far too heavy. But out of the car for a couple of nights it is great. Pitched in less than 10 minutes solo and absolutely brilliant in bad weather, (which I suppose is one reason it is heavy,- solid materials used all round; the other being the simple triangulated structure). Used these, as well as the Mk4 and Mk5 with school groups for years and this one has been around with me for about 25 years and still going strong, though the PU coating on the nylon fly has died and I have to make do with seasonal applications of 'Fabsil'.
