1 Reviews of the Nitro 2
By: Marcusfordus Reason: I own(ed) one Made in: 2010 Rating:
I have the 200+ version which gives you the extended porch area, The extra space gained is well worth the additional weight, I can easily get three motorcycle panniers along with my boots and helmet in there and still get access into the sleeping area. The sleeping area is wide enough for a sleeping bag and damp bike trousers alongside without touching, so it really is a proper 2-man tent width wise. Length would be a problem for someone over 6ft,2' as it gets very shallow at the foot end.It is easy to pitch and re-tension when it gets wet. Mine withstood gale force winds in Scotland that snapped other campers tents to bits. Ventilation could be better as there was always condensation on the flysheet inner even on dry evenings. The porch zip tends to let drips through in wind driven rain, getting underneath the baffle, but it's nothing that liquid seam sealer cant cure ( just like my other tent too !) Short pole sections mean it's a tight pack size that fits inside a pannier, tent bag is waterproof, and has pitching instructions sewn in.
How would I improve it to make it a 10/10 ?
2' more internal height and length in the sleeping inner tent, better ventilation, 6 hooked tent pegs for the pole end points and reflective guylines. Watertight zipper would be the icing on the cake.
It's a great tent for the money, where a Nallo would cost you twice as much.
