4 Reviews of the Beyond Lunar 3

5 years down the road this continues to be a fantastic tent. With about 8 trips I have had one fault with a guying point and nothing else - all down to the great build quality. After all my solo camping I decided to get a porch so the wife and dog could come in this tent rather than the Kalahari 8, which although a fantastic piece of kit does take a lot of space and is not that practical for a quick trip. Unlike BMW330 I was unable to find a nebula porch, so I spent some time doing research and found that the Horizon 6 End Porch was the closest size. It is not a perfect fit as you can see from the photos, but close enough, and with the addition of a few bungee extensions on the guys it is perfectly adequate. I didn't think I could love this tent any more, but the porch has opened up new possibilities for me, taking the family on short breaks, or even touring is now an option. Keep an eye out for the Horizon 6 End Porch, it may change your life too!

What a great weekender tent we have used this for lots of weekends over the 2 years we have had it and what a fantastic tent it is, we purchased a gelert nebula 3 canopy and it was a great added extra gave us so much more room for our table, then we saw a gelert nebula 3 porch on offer and we purchased it, best thing we ever did it gave us so much more space to put our cooker and table in with chairs as well,so easy to put up and take down, I put it up myself one weekend and it took me approx half an hour to put footprint, tent, porch and guyropes up, no joke it was so easy and im a woman too, so anyone can, all in all excellent tent highly recommended.

Tried this tent out for the first time last weekend and am so far very impressed. It goes up nice and easy with two people but think I could do it by my self quite easily.
The weather was pleasant during our trip with only medium-light winds, very little rain and a light ground frost but it stood up to this without issue and looks like it should stand up to a lot more.
We found the pegs that came with the tent were quite week and pent a few already, will be replacing them soonish. That and the guy ropes (as mention in previous review) are the only issues I can find with an otherwise great tent.
Once I have put this tent through its paces a bit more I will update the review.

What a fantastic little tent! I bought one for my solo expeditions camping and fishing, it was on offer at £100, and you get a lot tent for the money.
My criteria was that I would be able to put it up easily by myself (30 minutes) I would be able to stand up ( I am 6ft), it would keep me warm (SIG), keep me cool in summer ( fully ventilated and bug proof) keep me dry (5000mmHH), not break in the wind (aluminium poles) and be good quality (Gelert). All the boxes were ticked with this little tent and having spent 2 nights fishing and camping at Lindholme in Yorkshire it met all expectations ( I will have to wait till the summer to find out how it is at keeping me cool!).
Within 2 hours of arriving I was completely set up in the tent and out fishing without any mishap. When I dragged myself off the water I had plenty of room to relax, cook myself a decent meal ( I cooked inside, but hey it was only 5 degrees ), stretch out and relax. The sleeping pod would comfortably fit 2,( as with all tents you really need to subtract 1!), and being vitually square you have options there too.
Packing away was straight forward too, no tears or tantrums to report.
Are there any faults or downsides?? I could think of only 2 very minor things, and I mean minor, firstly there is only 1 cable access point so you have to think of which way you need to set the tent up, and secondly the guyropes are not the new fangled brightly coloured ones (not that they really make much difference). Thats all I could find. Apparently it has been discontinued so if you buy one get the footprint and carpet ASAP too.
So, for one or two people, ( 3 if you are all consenting adults) this could be the perfect tent, I'm sure it will make you a happy camper.
