1 Reviews of the Horizon 4
By: Emma-Swiss Reason: I own(ed) one Made in: 2013 Rating:
I purchased this tent approximately a month ago ready to go camping with my family this bank holiday weekend. Whilst looking at the tent I was disappointed that I could not find many reviews on it so I will try to list as much as I can about the tent to help other people looking. Firstly the tent is very easy to put up considering it was my first time of using this tent it probably took 45 minutes. I have read on a few other reviews I did manage to find that people complained about the poles splitting, thankfully I did not have a problem with this at all. One downside is the tent pegs that they supply with the tent they are just thin metal ones, luckily I had much sturdier ones from my old tent. There is a full sewn in ground sheet and also two different access zip points for the electric cable to come through. The bedding compartment clips in easily, there are 2 separate doors with the bedrooms and a full zipped middle section to divide the rooms, there is also plenty of ventilation. I know it states that this tent is a 4 berth but I would say that would be a bit tight. Personally I think it's more comfortably a 3 berth, giving you room to fit your clothes etc around the sides of the bedroom. One of the main reasons I liked the look of this tent was for the size of the actual living space, it is very large and I still managed to get everything in from my previous much larger 8 berth tent. There are also plenty of windows all around which was great, you just had to roll up the covers and there was so much light coming in. You obviously have the main front door. For me this was the biggest design flaw in the tent. There are only zips down either side of the door, it does not go all the way round the bottom. The bottom is held up by three toggles, therefore the bits in between flap about but I managed to sort this out and bought some self adhesive Velcro and stuck it along the bottom. This worked perfectly. You also have 2 side doors, one of which has a small canopy over I found this great for leaving dirty shoes etc outside. The initial outer doors zip all the way down but not fully round but the fly sheet zips all the way round so there was no way any creepy crawlies could get in. Once again the doors have windows on them too. We did have rain whilst we were away and I did have a couple of drips come in round the seams by the window, but in all fairness I had not weathered the tent beforehand. When it rained the following night I had no leaks at all. Overall I am very impressed with the tent and it is the perfect size for my family.
