3 Reviews of the Horizon Supreme 6
By: Live25 Reason: I own(ed) one Made in: 2015 Rating:
Found this new tent easy to assemble and use, and was an upgrade to an earlier model.
There was plenty of head room and the size was adequate for 4 people to holiday comfortably for just under a week. Like another user commented it would have been nice to have it in a sturdier bag.
This review is based on our first use of it, so I hope my opinions remain through the summer.

When I bought the Gelert Horizon 6 Supreme 2013 I did read the reviews on UK Campsite regarding the Gelert Horizon tents. With that in mind the issues of broken split poles you would think on the newer model would be rectified and that it was unlucky for those other campers and we will have a better experience….
Alas, not so……. Of course, being waterproof won’t work so well if the tent is not properly erected due to failure of one important part of the tent such as the tent poles.
I’ve been camping over 25 years and this is the first time a tent has failed let alone continues to fail; with a toddler we needed something bigger, practical, easy and reliable. So far, we have pitched this tent a handful of times; tent pole elastic broke, two tent poles split and broke, tent pegs cheap and nasty leaving shards of metal in our hands and one breaking narrowly missing impaling hand, plastic clip fabric attached to tent broken…… so far not impressed… and dread what will happen next camping trip. Certainly not “supreme”.
Whilst a brilliantly designed tent with separate bedrooms which was great for our needs the manufacture and poor quality really lets it down.
Remember to pack some gaffa tape, replacement bungee cord, spare pegs and have alternative accommodation ideas.

The reason why I added the Gelert Horizon Supreme 6 as a new tent on UK Campsite, is the fact that it is really a new tent! Lots of new features separate it from its first cousin the Horizon 6, and make it an even better tent than its predecessor.
Firstly, new for this 2013 model is the 6000 Hydrostatic Head, which makes it by far the most waterproof tent that I have ever come across. Secondly, the Horizon Supreme benefits from darkened bedrooms, handy for the light sleepers among us who find that the dawn sun can wake us up (useful for those taking small children camping as well)!
The bedrooms pods now come with two separate doors to each one, with a line of handy pockets separating them.
All in all, a different and indeed 'Supreme' tent, build on the good old chassis of the Horizon 6. Slightly lighter in weight and just as easy to erect. A little disappointed that it didn't come in the sturdy canvas bag that the Horizon 6 came in, instead it is a standard cloth bag, but a small price to pay for such a brilliant tent.

Manufacturer's Description
The award winning Horizon Range is one of our best selling family tent ranges. The Horizon 4 was voted “Best Buy Family Tent” by Which? Magazine 2012. The Horizon 6 is light and spacious with 218cm head height (approx 7ft 2”) at the highest point. Flexible door and bedroom combinations gives you more freedom to create the perfect layout to suit your needs. The darkened bedrooms can fit 1 double airbed at each end (or 4 single airbeds) and the zipped bedroom dividers provide additional flexibility. For 2013 we’ve increased the hydrostatic head to 6,000HH to assure a higher level of protection from the rain, making the Horizon range perfect for family camping.
