7 Reviews of the Mayon Vario 6

We love our tent but have found that it's more comfortable as a 4 berth as the bedroom compartments are a little small for 3. We now find it fairly quick to pitch with 2, as we're used to it, but in the beginning there was quite a lot of swearing under the breath! A good looking, strong tent which has stood up to all weathers. Stabilising bars along the sides add strength in high winds. Ours now needs a couple of repairs, one fibre glass pole has split and one steel pole needs replacing but not bad after the use it's had, and the damage may have been caused due to incorrect pitching. Loads of pockets inside for storage and spacious living area. We've been thinking of buying a new one for the past few years but haven't yet found one we like as much.

As another reviewer did I Bought this second hand on ebay and paid less than £100. Plenty of headroom and large sleeping pods. Living area is big enough for the 4 of us, including the camp kitchen. Has pockets in the pods and living area for storage. The 'Sun Roof' gives plenty of light. Front and two side doors gives flexibility. Super tent for a family holiday.

Owned for 5 years (bought second hand in vgc for £80). Ours is dark green- someone said the model is nice and light but in fact that's my only criticism, really- 2 big side windows and 2 small triangular windows each side of the end door BUT no skylight in ours! Can be a bit gloomy inside. Our obviously earlier model also doesn't have an electric cable access point either.

The main area has 2 groundsheets (free sitting, not 'detachable!) which can be a trip hazard-I will be getting a footprint ground sheet made up to overcome this. Currently we gaffer tape along the join AND though we are quite expert at pitching it, we have never been able to tuck the mudflaps under the ground sheet!

It happily stood up to wind (with 4 deltas strategically placed) and gallons of rain without a drip.

Have owned one for a few years and have taken it all over England. It's as good today as when I first bought it. The carry case is now falling apart. The only downside is you really need two to erect it.

Wind also has some impact on it, the poles are very strong and I have put this tent up in a very small area considering the size of it

Bought this second hand on ebay for £80. Previous owner only every put it up in garden to check it so virtually brand new.Can be fun putting up/down if windy but plenty of living space & head room compared to our old vango Venture 500. With the front and 2 side doors plenty of options also for air flow when hot. Bed pods spacious. With 2 big side windows and a Sun Roof loads of light. Is very heavy when packed away so we have kept the poles/pegs separate from the tent so easier to handle/lift in and out of trailer. Fantastic tent for a family holiday.

We have had this tent for 3 years but only used it twice. Both times really impressed with how easy it is to put up and the great amount of room there is inside. Bedroom pods are good and spacious, and the whole tent has lots of headroom (I'M 6 FOOT). Being a tunnel tent it's not so easy in the wind to erect, but other than that no criticisms at all.

Its a similar design to the lokon vario, but has two side opening doors, great family tent lots of headroom, heavy though when packed away.

Easy to put up as long as there is no wind even the lightest of breezes makes it a bit harder, as its fly sheet first. We found the easiet way to do it was secure the side guys roughly then pull out to suit.

Overall a great tent
