4 Reviews of the Monsoon 6
By: Slitemere Reason: I own(ed) one Made in: 2005 Rating:
I purchased my Monsson 6 from Ebay second hand for very little. It has been used a dozen or so times over the last 5 years and has never failed.
The flysheet is huge and must be positioned correctly and secured using all guy ropes or it will sag and create condensation issues with the inner tent.
If erected correctly it is strong and durable with loads of space for a small family.
Rear porch is big enough for bags and shoes if required
Front porch is huge and could even be used for 2 more people to sleep in
Terra Nova are gradually it seems removing all of it's Wild Country branded tents, but this is a reminder of how good they can be

I have the Monsoon 4, I love this tent. No leaks ever, it has been on many camps without any problems it takes me just 20 minutes to put up on my own and is sturdy in most winds, there is a breeze that comes from under the Fly sheet but the sleeping pods keep campers warm and dry, the space in the middle is not the biggest but who needs that space when you have the great outdoors! We are looking to get a bigger tent but only so we can camp for longer and take more family/friends

I have the Monsoon 4 which I have used on a number of occasions over the last few years. I have to say that it has never had to suffer extreme conditions, just moderate rain/ wind that you get in a typical British summer.
It has a simple but sturdy design which I have been able to put up on my own although it takes a while.
The two separate bedrooms are a good size and can easily take 4 adults. The living area is probably more suited to a family of 4 with small children, but still a very usable size with excellent headroom.
This seems to be a good sturdy tent that could take some harsh weather if needed. There have never been any leaks and it stands very solidly against the wind. The inner tents don't sag like many tents of this sort so it uses the available space very well.
The living area can be a bit draughty due to the separate groundsheet leaving a few gaps either side of the front and back doors. Also when the doors are zipped up its rather dark due to the lack of windows which is why I did not give it a 10.

I bought my Monsoon 8, which is slightly larger than the 6, for a holiday in France, since then it has had several outings for short breaks in this country and stands up really well to the weather (possibly due to its ground hugging shape), easy for my wife and I to put up, loads of room for two (as would be expected from an 8 berth tent). All the attachment points still in one piece, non of the seams leak, a larger groundsheet covering whole of the footprint would have been nice but really is not needed, it may not be as flashy as Sunn Camp or Outwell but just a reliable at a fraction of the cost.
