4 Reviews of the Nemesis 6

We have just had our first weekend in this tent in Wales, and if it was going to let us down in bad weather, this was the test. We stayed in Wales for 2 nights and it was very windy and rainy the whole weekend. The tent held out perfectly! Not a drop of moisture inside and I didn’t have to tighten a guy rope once!

This is our 2nd tent and I am really pleased with the upgrade. I got it for £170 off eBay. We used to have a Litchfield Arapaho 6 which we were really pleased with, but wanted to change for a tent with a sewn in groundsheet after a wet week in the Isle of Wight (we don’t have much luck with the weather). The Nemesis 6 solved all of the problems we had with the old tent. It is huge and very easy to put up. The height is also a distinct advantage as my partner (being 6') can walk around in it quite easily making it comfortable and versatile for bad weather. We wanted to keep with the vis a vis style as we liked the fact that the bedrooms weren’t right next to each other (a bit more private) and we also liked the living area in the middle. The space in each bedroom is fab as they are designed for 3 people, meaning 2 people and all their things can fit more than comfortably in each one. We fitted a king sized blow up mattress in with a little room around the sides. There are also a couple of storage pockets on each side in each room. There are air vents all round the tent which kept away the condensation. The tent is very easy to put up (fly sheet first) and take down and you get plenty of relatively decent tent pegs, spare guy ropes and a repair kit.

The only negative I have is that the packaging stated it had electricity cable access, which I couldn’t find any where so had to run the cable under the door. After contacting Gelert themselves, that said that was just a misprint and that it actually didn’t have electricity cable access! Quite frustrating but still doesn’t take away from the fact that this is a fab, excellent quality, sturdy tent. Well worth the money I paid for it and we will be using it a lot next year.

New to camping and this is the first tent bought. Did a lot of research on tents before we bought one. After checking numerous websites and reviews, we decided on the Gelert Nemesis 6. Did a test run of pitching the tent before we went on our first Camping trip (recommended) to the New Forest. Was so easy to pitch, Only took 30 minutes to put up. So easy, with easy follow instructions to follow stitched into the Tent bag. Is a very well ventilated tent and fully waterproof as we found out on our first night camping. Fitted with a Bathtub ground sheet. (Have just purchased the Gelert Tent carpet for this model) Ideal Tent for a Family plenty of room in the bed areas and the living area. Easy to take down and pack away also. Do not have any grumbles about this tent and would not hesitate to by further Gelert Products. Bring on the Next Camping trip!

Used this tent for the second time this weekend, and unlike first trip we had some fairly adverse weather to deal with-near gale force winds and driving rain on an exposed Welsh hillside-tent was fine didn't even have to tighten a guy rope. Given the price we paid(couple of hundred quid) was pleasantly surprised. Would definitely recommend to any one looking for a family tent in this price range.

We bought this as our first tent after trawling through the many available and talking to several salespeople. The guy who sold us this told us it was incredibly easy to pitch and all of the usual blah, but the price was right (we paid £150 brand new, locally, so shop around!)and his showroom/garden meant we had a chance to walk around loads,so we thought we'd give it a go.

We arrived on site, removed the tent from the bag and were sitting with a cold beer 45 minutes later wondering what we'd done wrong! This was incredibly easy to erect even though we'd had limited to no experience between the two of us. You peg out the sewn in groundsheet, then insert the frame-it has four sets of flexible poles which go into the various channels (tip from salesman-lay out poles on floor, give a flick of the wrist, poles all join ready to feed!),pull it upright to fill with air and secure it with the pre attached guy lines-scarily straightforward. The bedroom compartments are easy to fit, with zipped in fly screens and doors, and colour coded fixings to help get them the right way up! When the salesman told us it only took him 45 minutes to erect we were sceptical as he obviously does it every day, but it was so simple we couldn't believe it.

It was very well ventilated-despite a heavy dew we had no condensation inside the sleeping compartment at all, and the windows had built in fly screens which was helpful as we pitched next to water! It has doors on both sides so you can face whichever way you prefer, and porch poles are included for one door. It has plenty of head room throughout and a nice sized living area, though I'm not sure if six adults would find it a tad too cozy. We also found that we were better off sleeping with our heads toward the living area but that's largely down to me being a little claustrophobic and preferring more head room while I sleep.

Putting it back in the bag was also relatively simple-folded it lengthways twice, rolled it up with the bedrooms removed but folded into the roll, and it dropped straight into the bag, taking us less than half an hour. The only thing I would improve about this tent is to possibly put another optional fly screen in for the main door (though I think other ranges like the Horizon may have this), however for the money we paid I think we got a great deal and that this was an ideal choice for us as novices, and will serve us for a few years to come.

We thankfully weren't able to test it under adverse conditions, however I think it has enough internal space to cope with entertaining the family during the average British summer (room for a table and four chairs easily), and the bedroom compartments keep you far enough from the exterior to prevent you getting soaked during the night, so if you can get one for a good price I would highly recommend it.
