I was lucky enough to win this tent from the UKCampsite competition (thank you!), and we have recently taken it out for a couple of trips.
The first think to note is the size of the packed away tent. It is huge and heavy. So much so, that we were thinking of selling it before even trying it out. However we are very glad that we kept it.
It is very quick and easy to put up (even if the pumping it up is pretty good exercise). The inner bedrooms are already attached so it does go up in one go. It is spacious inside and has lots of storage pockets and ventilation. The 4 person bedroom end can have a zipped in middle wall or you can unzip that and have it as one room. Similaly at the 'foot end' of the 2 person room there is a smaller space that can be separated. We kept this wall in and used the space to store all of our bags. My one complaint about the 2 man room is that if you are the person next to the wall of the tent you do tend to rustle the inner of the tent whenever you turn over in the night - I found it annoying but you may not.
We loved having the little porch area - just enough space to let you take off wet shoes before going into the tent. The living space was ample big enough for us to be able to eat in the tent in wet weather (that is 5 of us sitting at a camping table) with good head height too.
We did have lots of rain and a fair bit of wind while we were away and the tent coped well. There was only a few drips in 1 place, the rest was warm and dry. And whereas our old tent used to have lots of condensation every morning, this had none.
I had read horror stories about the amount of time it takes to pack away the air-beam style tents and I was dreading it, but ours took no longer than our previous conventional tent, and taking the stoppers out to release the air is quite impressive!
The second time we put the tent up one of the air poles had a little kink in it, not a huge problen as it made no difference to how the tent worked but on the same trip we did have another camper ask us for advice on the tent as they had the same one and yet all of their air poles seemed to have kinks and be a bit splayed-out. We couldn't give any advice, we just wondered if it is to do with the pressure they are pumped to.
Having said all of the above we love out new tent. We have a few little niggles as mentioned (the packed size, inner tent in the 2 man bit being a bit baggy, a few drips and a kinked pole) but overall think it is ace and are definitely not selling it!
