After two uses a pole split - on investigation it was obvious from poor design and materials this was bound to happen.

Never mind - 1 year warranty! Contacted Gelert to be told ' poles not covered'! This contravenes sale of good act and is obviously nonsense.

The tent has proven to be first class, very little condensation,very very easy to put up and so far through a number of heavy downpours waterproof.

Very versatile and light weight.I especially like the 'porch area' where boots etc can be kept out of any rain, also this is a good area to sit on etc as you cook food just outside at the front. A superb product,I highly recommend it, a very satisfied customer.

I bought this tent as a second tent, back up plan for an amazing Ł17.99 from Countrywide stores. This is a great time to buy these tents, amazing value.

I pitched it in windy conditions and it was subjected to heavy rain overnight.It was completely dry in the morning and proved amazingly sturdy. For the price it is very well put together. Like the other reviews say for the 3 and 4 man variants, it is very easy to pitch.

Are there any cons ?

For the price it is hard to be too critical, as this is a very nice tent of good quality, that does its job well, keeping you warm and dry. There are a few things to point out that may be worth bearing in mind.

Firstly, as a 2 person tent it would be quite a squeeze, but not impossible. A help is the front porch useful for stowing boots etc. I camp on my own and find for one it is very comfortable and spacious.

Second, the inner tent is quite close to the outer flysheet and can touch in places depending how it is set up. I guess that this has potential for leakage in persistent rain. Having said that, I had mine up in heavy, rain overnight and there was no sign that rain would come in this way, again a testament to the quality of its build. In fact, in the past I have owned more expensive tents than this that have not proved to be as good.

The only other thing to say is that I would recommend using an additional groundsheet as a footprint to pitch it on, as the sewn in groundsheet is quite thin, presumably to keep the weight down. That it does well and it fits neatly and easily in it own little bag. All in all this is a fantastic little tent and is great value.
