We brought this tent recently as an ex display model. It cost under £100 and I am really pleased with it.
It easily housed 6 adults and 4 ferrets and all the camping gear needed for a comfortable holiday. It withstood heavy rain and strong winds!
I was surprised by how easy the tent was to put up, there were 2 of us (and I am under 5ft).Once you work out where the poles go, if one person goes inside and lift up from the centre it is up in seconds!
The pods are a good size, we fit a double airbed and a cage of ferrets in one pod and 2 single airbeds in each of the other 2 pods! The living area is fantastic although I was a bit disappointed that the groundsheet does not go underneath the sleeping pods!
All in all I was really happy with this tent and cant wait to go away again!

This is a monstrous tent with enough living space to park a car (literally, and stand on the roof).
The down side is that it's fairly heavy; I have to carry the poles separately. And while it really is a 2man+ job to erect, I have managed on my own (took about an hour).
It doesn't have any transparent windows, though I haven't yet decided whether that's good or bad. The options for ventilation are ample as the back of the dome unzips too.
Similarly, not sure if the lack of sown in ground sheet on the living area is a good or bad thing, but the bedroom compartments have bathtub type sown in ground sheets which is what counts.
For me, the main downside is that because it takes so much effort to erect and dismantle (particularly threading the poles in and put of the flysheet), it's not the tent you'd choose for a weekend away. This mean I only get to use it 3 or 4 times a year.
There has been a problem with one pole section splitting, though I believe there some sort of fibreglass tape you can get to fix that. Also the elastic in one pole broke, which can make threading even more interesting.
All in all, a great family tent.
For my next tent I'd look for something quicker and lighter.

We love this tent! It is huge - we bought it as it has 3 sleeping compartments - perfect as we have a boy and a girl. The sleeping areas are the right size for sleeping which then gives you a massive living space which is fantastic in poor weather. We can fit our table and chairs in it along with the stove.
We have always managed to put the tent up with only 2 of us no probs. Some of our poles snapped a couple of years ago in gale force winds but we got a replacement pack from Gelert.
This tent has just survived it's 4th year of family hols and it still going strong. A great buy and doesn't cost a fortune.

This is the biggest 6 birth tent I have seen, It can be a bit of a pig to put up, but once you have you have three double pods, a large dome area and a tunnel tent all in one. The only down thing is the ground sheet is not sewn in, but for that it would be alot more to buy.
We have had a couple of seasons out of it and it still looks good. I would buy another one.
The top tip for putting it up is to release all the straps fully before erecting.

Sorry I can't agree at all with the other reviews here.
Erected 1st time in garden, staking out inner tents, applied moderate tension to get groundsheet taut, peg point tore out of G/S- twice. 2nd time I was v careful with tension applied (& 1st time I maintain I wasn't pulling excessively).
A bit awkward to erect, great size, good layout, but just rubbish quality materials. Not used since. It's cheap for a reason.

This is a great tent but not a weekend tent. Better for the long term week plus. I bought mine 2nd hand but virtually new in 2005 for £147 and it has done good service in France and the UK.
Mine is the larger DLX version with an extended tunnel on the front and it truly is huge giving a cooking area with the 3 bedrooms.
As others have said you can put up with two but 3 is better. We have put up with 2 adults and a 10year old.
The dlx has poles in the roof to solve that dip problem.
In high winds this year we had some damage to the poles but able to sort out with some duct tape.
I put a second groundsheet under the bedroom area to prevent run through if it gets very wet.

HUGE tent. Fantastic. Normally only have two bedrooms up and use the third area for kitchen/cooking etc.
Every time I've put this up, there have been two people doing it, and taking it down again despite the warning that 3 people are needed on the instructions.
It's fantastic for space, and we'll be hanging onto it for longer holidays!

We bought this in November 2006 for £170.00 and used it once in 2007 and once this year.
Pitching. It really needs 3 people to pitch, though we have managed with too with a bit of a struggle. I would suggest that you ensure all the tension straps are loose before you attempt this.
Bedrooms. All three pods can hold a double air bed without problems. The 2 side pods have an extra area for storing clothes and has a divider to hide them. The 3rd pod (centre) can be removed as there is a door at the rear.
Living Area. This is huge. We went away earlier this year and had 4 adults and 4 kids playing cards round a table! The ground sheet is not sewn in.
Packing Away. No problem at all. It has a 3 in 1 bag and we have always managed to pack it all away.
In General. A big family tent that has lots of space, though a bit tricky to put up, it is worth it.

We have had this for 3 years now, it only comes with us on the long holidays. It is great for the living area, we had half the camp site in ours last year when it was raining. However it is quite difficult to put up, it never seems to go up the same shape twice, and I always have the previously mentioned dip in the roof filled with water, no matter what I try (friend has one and does not have the same problem). We also have a Gelert Cadiz 5 for the shorter trips

This is a massive tent, which we no longer use . The family has been shrinking over the past few years. In fact I intend selling it this year.
We did have two great holidays in it though, for the 5 of us
Although there are 3 separate sleeping compartments, we only used the two at each side. The third one at the back, we converted into the kitchen area. It left a massive area in the middle and front for day-time activities.
Normally, in a tent if it rains there's no space for people to do their own thing, but in this tent, there is.
True it's pretty big . But it's aimed at the summer holiday tent market, ie pitched for a week or maybe two, with all the gear stuffed inside for that Cornish vacation . Surf boards, boat, air bed etc etc etc.
Well worth having for a family holiday tent
