Bought as a return from eBay Ł210. Reason, small tear to side door canopy (?) Yes please! We compared to the Boston easycamp 600 which we’ve had for years. This tent is essentially the same, slightly larger, steel poles, one fewer window (opp. The side door) and a proper canopy rather than a ‘peak’. Overall, just feels better quality made.

Easier to get up as the poles are in 3 sections, so you don’t have to wrangle the whole thing at once. We did put them each one pin too far back at first-thought it was a bit too easy! Minor drawbacks-separate bedrooms, we prefer one with a dividing curtain. No hook over middle of living room for a light. ‘U’ front door, we prefer ‘D’. Does seal up way better than the Boston, mainly because the ground sheet doesn’t drop down. Definitely correctly marked as a trip hazard! That’s pretty much it.

The bug mesh is brilliant and the front canopy was well used, mainly for shade. We got no rain, so can’t comment on that.

Overall, pretty much dream tent for us. No tent envy-till the guy next to us turned up with the ‘premium’ model which doesn’t seem to be listed here. 2 side doors opposite each other with bigger peaks. Ventilation to the sides where the bedrooms are, and they’d got the canopy extension, so whole cooking set up in there. I think all versions are discontinued now, but look out for a 2nd hand bargain, great tent 👍🏻

Third year with this tent. It's cracking tent. We can put it up now inside 20 minutes. Sturdy, well-made and oh so much room. It's withstood very strong winds without issue. Yes, it makes a racket but that's the canopy flapping. But, that canopy is a god-send. Our cooker sits out there and all our plastic boxes with covers, plus deck chairs and a table.

In our third year the only fault we've noticed is that the carbon fibre rods holding up the canopies to the doors, has pierced through its socket. However, a bit of tape on their ends, has meant they haven't pierced the outer skin.

Out of three Hi-Gear tents we've had, this is the best.

This is the first tent we've owned - we looked at a number of other tents from various manufacturers before purchasing but decided on the Oasis 6 because it seemed to offer the best size, specs and quality at what is still an affordable price.

The tent is huge! There are four of us and we have more than enough space - although for 6 the sleeping area would be 'cosy' (although the same goes for any tent really - the berth rating is a maximum rather than a comfort rating). The real plus here is the living space - it's the size of a small living room in a house let alone a tent! There's also a fairly large covered area at the front which can be extended with the Oasis 6 porch (the Frontier 6 porch also fits if you want something a bit large with an enclosed front - we've since 'upgraded' to this as it provides more protection from the elements).

Waterproof rating is very good (6000HH) for a tent of this price. We have found one tiny leak in ours near one of the vents where water seems to seep in through the stitching, but even in heavy rain only a couple of drips come through and its easily fixed with some sealant. All in all though the quality of the manufacturing is very good.

The tent is really sturdy and stands up to strong winds well, thanks to the steel poles. It has plenty of guy ropes and pegging points. There are lots of vents which can all be closed if required. Lots of light from the large windows around 3 sides, all of which have roll-up curtains. The side doors can be rolled up leaving just a fly screen to increase air flow on really warm days.

The tent comes in two bags, one for the tent itself and one for the poles. Both are very heavy and quite large. It takes two of us about 15 minutes to put the tent up - and then another 10 minutes to peg it all out. It is possible to do it single handedly but easier with 2. Packing it away takes a bit less time, although getting it back in the bag is a challenge - we've figured out that the best way is to spread it out completely flat, then fold lengthways in 3 (so it's 1/3 of the full width), then in half again, and then roll as tightly as possible from the back to the front, pushing all the air out as you go.

Would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a good size family tent.

We are new to camping and we didn't want to spend a fortune on a tent in case we hated it, but we instantly loved this tent when we saw it at the store.

We have 2 young kids and it was ideal for space and the bedrooms were big enough for 2 adults & 2 kids, one being in a travel cot. The living area is huge too even with a kitchen unit inside with kettle etc on it.

It was a bit stressful pitching it but that will get better in time and I only had to attempt to fold it up 2 this time when taking it down.

I love this tent and I cannot wait to go camping again in it in a weeks time.

Just been for a long weekend in our new Oasis 6. It was perfect.

I'm not going to add anything new to what the others have said, just that if you are considering a spacious, sturdy, well made tent, then this one will do the trick.

After watching the YouTube clip mentioned it was very straightforward to put up and take down.

We got ours for Ł550 with the carpet, extension (not used) and footprint.

I would recommend this tent with no reservations whatsoever.

We have camped for all our lives & for the past few years with family growing up& leaving have used a Halfords tent with fibre glass poles. The tent cost Ł99.99 and has served us well, however after a few poles breaking & our beloved tent looking more like a crab we decided to upgrade. I am 60 this year. We went to Go Outdoors for a look & bought this tent. We put it up in the front garden & it went up easier than our much smaller tent.However putting it away was another matter, I had to look online & saw the best way was to collapse from the back, with all doors open so the air escaped.It worked! We went away the following weekend & love this tent. The only problem we had was putting the extra canopy up.On tightening the webbing it ripped! We put a patch on & went back to go outdoors on our return who swapped it. So that is why I have given it a 9. The zips also proved a bit of a problem, when inside. However wish we had bought this years ago, so much room & so light & airy with all the windows & vents. Would recommend however, the extra canopy does seem poor quality even though it states it is the same.We will take care on tightening the tent peg webbing in future

We've just returned from a fortnight in Vendee, France, where we experienced pretty much everything the weather could throw at us.

The Oasis 6 was fantastic. It stood firm in 65mph gusts and coped admirably with 36 hours of constant downpour (and I mean downpour - at one point it sounded like someone had opened a fire hydrant on top of the tent) with virtually no condensation inside due to the many vents.

When it warmed up, it was great to be able to sit inside the tent on the evening with all the doors open and the flyscreens zipped up, so we could have a cool breeze with the light on and no flies or creepy crawlies able to get in - a huge bonus for my daughter who runs a mile at the sight of a spider.

The canopy worked brilliantly as a 'front porch' so all the shoes could be left there in the dry before getting into the tent. Only the first two or three inches of canopy groundsheet got any rain on it, but of course this is dependant on which way the rain is falling.

I'm trying to think of any downsides - the only thing I can think of is that whilst there are enough pegs, they could do with all being the bent-sheet-metal type rather than half bent-sheet and half wire, which weren't a lot of use on the rocky soil we had on our pitch. We had a bunch of rock pegs which did the job, but I would recommend getting at least a dozen 'heavy duty' pegs to go along with it.

We bought the bundle with the footprint and carpet, and I can heartily recommend both. The footprint makes erecting the tent very simple as you can work out where it's going to go before getting the tent out of the bag, and it also keeps the tent dry underneath so packing away is a breeze. Talking of which, they provide an oversize tent bag, so it does actually fit back in afterwards!

The carpet provides a nice bit of comfort although isn't that thick - nice under foot but a bit thin to kneel on!

I can't recommend this enough - many other tents were leaking and a few fibreglass-poled tents snapped with the wind, yet ours remained solid, warm and dry.

We bought this after buying a tourer 6,comes in 2 bags the poles being very heavy but then you know once its up it is going to be hard to move.

We had a very windy day on our first time putting it up but managed to do it,have bought the frontier 6 porch to use as the kitchen area as wasnt happy with the wide open space at the front to try cooking in, in the rain and wind as we had seen others with an 8 trying to cook on hols earlier in the year and they had to drape a big tarp over the front to stop the wind getting in.

Very spacious and we mangaged to have our family of 5 in there with blow up settees and tv etc without problem bedrooms big enough to take our fold up bed and 2 sims for the kids to share in the other room.

Would definetly recommend this tent as it took a lot of rain over 2 days and not a single drop inside lots of ventilation points and three doors to choose from,would also reccomend buying a frontier porch to use as an extra cooking sitting area as this adds a lot more space to an already very spacious tent

We purchased this last year having accidentally damaging our previous tent which was the older model.

This is a great tent and the niggles with the older model seem to have been resolved. The steel frame is heavy but gives you some reassurance in the changeable British weather.

Since purchasing in June 2014 we have used it on numerous occasions both in the UK and France. We are a family of 4 and there is plenty of space inside if the weather isn't great.

Love, love, love this tent!

This is our 3rd year of camping, and we have previously borrowed a tent and then bought a cheaper one to get us started.

The Oasis 6 was everything we had on our list of requirements after camping for 2 years in other tents. It is large enough for our family of 5, it has lots of windows making it feel large and airy, it has plenty of fly screens allowing you to ventilate it without flies getting in, and the built in canopy is huge! (Meaning you can leave your cooking equipment outside without the worry of it all getting wet if it rains)

We used this tent for the first time over the May bank holiday (beginning of May 2015) and the weather was horrendous. Rain and very strong winds!) The strong steel poles and hydrostatic head of 6000 meant this tent more than held it's own in these conditions. It feels really good quality (much better than previous tents we've owned/used)

We can't wait to use this tent again and wouldn't think twice about recommending it to anyone!
