4 Reviews of the Hilleberg Nallo 3GT

We are cycle tourists, and have need of a reassuringly expensive tent! We also own a Hilleberg 1 person tent, so were aquainted with it's quality before buying this one.
It is a doddle to put up, even in high winds. Once up foul weather doesn't cause it any trouble at all. In gale force winds it hardly moves. In torrential rain not a drop gets in. It suffers very little from condensation. It is comfortable and roomy, yet small and light once packed. It dries incredibly quickly. It has all sorts of little well thought out features that just make it a fantastic tent. I can't think of any negative aspects to this tent. We love our Hillebergs!

We use our tent for cycle touring. Tent can have all layers attached to pitch or you can separate them for weight distribution. It can be squished into a pannier wet and pulled out when the rain stops to dry in a few minutes. Had all sorts of terrible weather in the years we have used it and it's still great. Take care of the zips and don't put too much stress on them. Don't forget to slacken the guy ropes during the day when the temperature rises.

The initially cost was expensive, I look at one before and brought a Phoenix as they where cheaper.
There is plenty room inside, ideal in periods of poor weather.
I agree with Epa611 comments, I only guy mine in windy conditions or on busy sites - some people have little respect for other peoples property.

The Nallo 3GT is the first choice tent for us when we started cycle touring and we made the decision to pay for the best. That is what we got!
The tent the Rolls Royce of tents! Light, small pack size, pitches as one, easy to pitch, strong, and with a huge porch that can take at least 8 panniers and other assorted rack bags for a fully loaded cycling holiday.
We also use this tent if multi day travel to a campsite - takes less than 10 mins to pitch and is so small and light it can be crammed in anywhere.
Once erected, the tent can take all sorts of weather - we have been in a force 7 storm adn it never moved an inch with no leaks ever. We've had this tent since 2006 and it shows no sign of deterioration anywhere and looks as good as the day we bought it.
If you need a small lightweight tent that is absolutely top quality and money is not a priority, then we have no qualms about recommending the Hilleberg brand. Buy quality and only buy once!

Manufacturer's Description
The Nallo 3 GT’s salient characteristic may be its light weight, but it is still fully able to handle all season, all weather adventures. This explains why this tent is an ideal choice for those needing the roomiest, lightest tent that still offers all-season, all weather functionality. This includes wilderness photographers, professional climbers, hunters, and other adventurers who have to carry large amounts of gear, as well as long distance hikers, who want to get more out of carrying less. Globe-trotting trekkers often carry the Nallo 3 GT, as it ensures they will have private accommodations wherever they go. And two-person teams often opt for the Nallo 3 GT, as it offers both the extra interior room and capacious storage space with very little weight penalty. Families with younger children and those who hike with their dogs also love the extra space – and, of course, the very light weight – the Nallo 3 GT has to offer.
With an extended porch and entrance featuring a door on either side, the Hilleberg Nallo 3 GT tent offers greater access, comfort, storage and pitching options. An innovative rear vent and venting configuration to the front of the outer allows maximum air to flow through the tent.
The extended porch of the GT model provides a good deal of space for storage and preparing meals/sheltering from the weather.
This three-person model weighs exceptionally little without compromising on quality. Flysheet and inner pitch-as-one.
Given the incredible light weight of this Hilleberg tent, it could still be considered for two people to carry if you want the extra space and headroom.
