I've just come back from my first trip in my Rosas.

We slept two adults and two children in the tent - plenty of room for our bags etc in the living area, but we had attatched a separate canopy to act as living area - perhaps it would have been a bit tight for space otherwise (depending on how much kit you like to take!).

I found sleeping in the Rosas much more comfortable that in my old polyester tent due to the breathability of the canvas - also no rustling in the wind, lovely and quiet.

Very impressed at the simplicity of the erection of the Rosas, easily manageable by one person.

Love the Rosas - think its my 'forever tent'.

I bought a Rosas as a weekender because for short trips my Outwell Wolf Lake 5 was too heavy, bulky and cumbersome although I love the WL to bits!

Budget was a very big factor in my choice and ultimately determined my choice 2 other critical factors were that tent had to be canvas and easy to solo pitch. At 299eu (March 11) from Obelink, the Rosas fit the bill perfectly, and I also bought the tarp which is really necessary to provide outdoor living space for cooking / eating. After the tents first pitch, I now keep the ZIG attached permanently. The cotton inner can be divided into 2 bedrooms, it is attached to the tent as one bedroom inner (you don't have the option of attaching only one bedroom as you do in the Palamos 6). There is no mesh for ventilation in the bedrooms but thats simply overcome by leaving a bit unzipped.

Living space: there is about 1.5 metres depth of living space from bedroom to front door, so just enough for a couple of chairs, a low table for kettle, lamp and dog bed. There is enough room to eat too if weather was bad, and it is 'cosy'. There are windows on either side of the door, mesh is the top part and plastic on the lower part. >From the outside of the tent you can zip the windows down or else toggle back during daytime. The door is canvas with no option for mesh or plastic - either would have been a very nice feature. There is no porch area, just an overhang over the door - for this reason I got the Hypercamp tarp, which is an absolute must with the Rosas I think to provide cooking / eating space / living space. The lack of porch is not really a negative, as I knew this when I bought the tent, but its something I just wish was different (I am spoilt with the Wolf Lake which has a super porch).

Pitching the Rosas: really easy and quick which is exactly what I wanted. Roll it out, peg in 4 corners, crawl in with the centre pole and position. Then put in the door frame poles to keep the shape, this bit takes only about 2-3 minutes. Then just peg the rest of the tent. I am not huffing or puffing by pitching this tent (as I am sometimes with my Wolf Lake!), its no problem whatsoever, which is super.

Extras: I use my Outwell foot print to keep the Rosas clean underneath; I also use my Outwell carpet in the Rosas and it helps make it feel really cosy and the colours coincidentally match perfectly.

Overall, I like the Rosas a lot and it perfectly suits my current needs. The tent is lovely and snug at night and takes no time for our heater to heat it up at night/morning. The easy and swiftness of pitching is a huge bonus with this tent. I'm happy with my purchase of the Rosas.

I wanted to use the tent a few times before leaving a review, as its easy to be happy with your purchase when you first pitch it but using it is a different matter.

Firstly we brought it from Obelink and the service from them over the internet if fantastic, UK dealers could learn a thing or two from our European friends here

Out of the bag the first impression is the quality, I think it easily matches our late model Cabanon. It takes some work the first pitch as the guys have to be tied on and the ZIG zipped up, after a little practice its a 10- 15 minute pitch.

I cant fault it so far so give a 10 score, it is our weekender and for that it suits us fine we have tried 3 weekends in her and are now getting the level of kit just right. We will use it for extending our season a bit, because its small to heat and the canvas is good for colder weather.

Just us 2 adults and to collies, but can manage the small space ok we use a 4 person size folding table and a bench seat one side and put the kettle and toaster on this. As its for short stays we don't take all the cooking gear, so eat out in the evening for one night or take the Coleman duel fuel stove (because its compact no gas bottle either) and cook outside if its fine. Like wise the big chairs they stay in the car and come out if the weather is ok. This keeps the inside a bit more roomy.

I found that our old carpet from the Horizon8, cut into one third and two thirds fits the front and bedroom bits really well, and as a bonus the bedroom bit fits our cabanon bedroom too. The Areobed active double fits easily into the bedroom. We will use SIMats in winter but I think maybe the campbeds will fit with ways in the bedroom

Looking forward to some winter camping this year which will be a new adventure for us, the quality is very good we had no leaks even on its first soaking. The zip in ground sheet is very thick and makes our Outwell look like a kids play tent. Zips are heavy duty and don't snag. The zig folds flat in the door way so you don't trip over it.

We had some nice comments about it at Pillaton, and most were surprised at the quality which is not expected with its cheap price, so good value for money

Having seen dozens of Dutch tents on campsites around Europe, we were highly impressed by their looks and the way they stood up to wind and rain. When we finally got rid of the kids we determined to find ourselves a smaller, canvas, Dutch tent. Thanks to the message boards on UKCS we found out about several Dutch makers (De Waard, Esvo, Obelink etc) and spent many hours browsing the web. Anyway we finally settled on the Hypercamp Rosas 4, from Obelink,as being perfect for our needs (and wallet).

The zip in groundsheet is a thick ripstop PVC material that is supple (not 'crackly') and the zips are comfortingly heavy duty. It can be dropped flat in the doorway. The groundsheet on the inner tent is much thinner but has a nicer 'feel' and saves weight and packsize. The canvas of the tent is good quality and the workmanship is generally very good. In a couple of places seams had got a bit of 'ragged edge' poking from under the stitching but a quick snip with nail scissors cleaned them up.

Pitching is quite straightforward; four corners of the zig, centre pole, temporary guys to the porch to hold the tent up, porch poles in and permanently site the porch guys. Finalise erection by pegging the rest of the zig and then doing all those lovely storm guys. The only slightly awkward bit is the front poles which are threaded into pockets (inside the tent) across the top of the door. Plastic cups are supplied for the feet of the porch polls and plastic rain caps to go on the spikes after fitting them through the canvas. After the first successful erection it's worth putting a mark on the groundsheet to mark the position of the centre pole. It makes subsequent erection easier. Once the storm guys are set it is impossible to move the centre pole.

The two front windows are mesh at the top and clear PVC at the bottom. The window covers zip down the side of the window but not along the bottom. There are two zippable vents low in the sides of the living area which are also meshed. The top of the inverted 'J' zipped door can be unzipped 'stable door' fashion, Unfortunately there is no mesh for the door.

The polyester/cotton inner (attached to the outer using 'S' hooks into rings) has a central divider that can be rolled and tied to the 'roof'. With the divider out of the way there is room for a double airbed (in either direction) with plenty of space for bags. There are a couple of mesh panels high up for ventilation.

The living space is ideal for two adults. There is ample room for a couple of chairs and, with a smallish table, there is room to 'dine' indoors if necessary.

The tiny porch extension is sufficient to keep rain out as long as the wind isn't blowing straight into the doorway.

The tent has proved totally watertight and very stable in strong winds. Being canvas, there is no condensation inside the tent even in very humid conditions. In bad weather the tent feels quieter and warmer than a 'nylon' one. In good weather the tent is much cooler then the 'nylon' equivalent.

I would highly recommend the Obelink 3.75metre square polycotton tarp as a perfect complement to the Rosas 4. It's almost the same colour (beige) and can be used in a number of different ways to treble the living space.

Can't fault this tent, does everything I expected & for the price has been excellent. Bought it last August has been used a few times now & has stood up to some nasty weather, no leaks or issues in wet windy conditions, has 2 slit vents in sides & 2 half mesh half plastic windows in front & kept cool in sun.

Inner tent fills rear half hanging from hook on centre pole, can be 1 large pod with centre curtain rolled up or divided into 2 with curtain down.

Would be okay for 4 sleeping but I've only used it alone or with 2 of us at most & it has provided more than enough space. Have also used it without inner & found it very comfy.
