2 Reviews of the Pyramid Tarp

By: Snailofsatan  Reason: I own(ed) one  Made in: 2011   Rating:

Here's my review since using the tent. I stayed at a UK festival in August 2011 and setup on damp ground in about 5-10 mins, just a few pegs and one pole so I was up before anyone else had looked at their instructions! (oh and I slid a groundsheet under the tent)

Most of the time it was a dry weekend but there were a few light showers, lots of wind and one mega heavy rain storm for about 5 minutes.

I'm pleased to stay the tent held up in all the high winds and stayed completely dry throughout the rain; even the really heavy rain storm.

I love this tent!

Just bought this JW Tarp and have only pitched it in the back garden so far but it appears very good - A full test will be made in August 2011 camping for the weekend.

The pack size/weight is very good and was very easy to put up; just peg out the 5 corners, put the pole inside and then peg the rest! - Very quick and should keep the tent dry if putting up in rain as it's all one piece.

All fasteners seem very good quality to any other tent i've owned, the ground sheet however does seem very thin so I'll be pitching this on a second groundsheet and will probably put some sort of carpet inside.

I've bought this to fit on my motorbike for weekends - it should fit on easily. There is also lots of space inside, it's stated as four man, which could just fit in without any gear. - But i'd say it's more of a large 2 man tent with lots of room, or 3 with a littler gear. It has good head height and a nice atmosphere inside.

I'll upload a photo soon with someone inside to see the space, and give it a weather test in August, but overall so far it seems very good quality - there are lots of positive German reviews for this tarp too which made me buy it.
