As with most things this tent has good and bad points.

Good lots of space. I am 6'2 and it's ok for me, water proof, easy to put up, ish. Good in the wind.

Bad, the door zips are a pain when it's raining water gets in, big problem is no sewing ground sheet, it's cold and draughty, hence poor score.

Would I recommend this tent? yes I would.

Bought the freedlander second hand, for motorbike rally's. Its brill,But having no instructions the first time we attempted to put it up was a nightmare as I somehow attempted to pull the middle up the wrong way: Lessons learnt ( embarrassment at a rally being watched)

As stated in previous reviews, the front zip is not easy to open, and rain collects at the front of the door.

I've bought a canopy for £20 which solves the problem.

Also beware of trapping the canvas in the pole joints.

Really love this tent. We've had it for c. 4 years and it has been great. It's so easy and quick to put up and it makes a big difference not to have to spend ages feeding the poles through.

There is enough room for one person at a time to stand up in the porch, though we just use it for storing bags, cooker etc down each side. The sleeping area is comfortable for two people and easily fits a double mattress.

A word of warning - if it's windy definitely make use of all the guide ropes - not fun when it collapses in on you! However, having spent a weekend in it in extremely windy weather it was brilliant and stood up to the challenge. We used every guide rope plus a few extra for reinforcement and it was very sturdy.

I love this tent, so easy to pitch, with plenty of room, must admit the door is hard to zip to the bottom with the angle the door comes out at, and when it rains water collects at the bottom of the door.

I have just ordered the new canopy for this tent by khyam website, which hopefully will stop the water collecting at the bottom of the door, but still awaiting delivery and to test the new canopy.

But apart from these problems, think this is a great tent, with plenty of room inside.

I would definitely get another Freelander tent when the time arises.

A great tent, so easy to erect. Plenty of space for two and as more than ample room for one. Re porch opening, yes I would agree with other comments that in poor weather the front pouch doorway could be a problem. I am still waiting to give my Freelander it's full trial. However, I am more than satisfied that it is a great tent.

We bought this tent for the large living space as my husband uses a wheelchair and we have a dog.We did have a biker tent before and loved it but it meant leaving the wheelchair outside and crawling in. The Freelander means my husband can wheel right in and there is room for him, a chair, small table and fold up dog kennel.

We have 2 single air beds and find the sleeping compartment has plenty of space. It has stood up to windy conditions, thunder, lightning and heavy rain. It is quick to put up but I would have liked the option of a side door as in the biker.

Agree with all the other comments re the door and zips - will try attaching something to the zip to make it easier.

My only real criticism is the vent window could easily have been made into a door or had fixtures to attach a fireblanket so you can cook safely on one side. Considering attaching a fireblanket on this side anyway using velcro.

Agree that it is a bit cold & interesting in high winds - definitely going to invest in more guy ropes as on top of the cliffs in Hastings didn't get much sleep on a windy night.

Easy to put up and seems to survive torrential downpours no problem (other than getting in & out of it!)

As an avid camper and a geriatric OAP owning a Vango Equinox 350 I have recently purchased a Freelander in order to have more head room so as to ease the aching bones. Having first trialled the Freelander at the end of May 2010 in West Wales (the best ever hottest/driest camping weather conditions out) I am still waiting to really test the Freelander. My initial response, is yes it does everything it says it does on the box. However, Kyhams instructions on how to fit their additional storm guys is somewhat scant. All in all a good tent but slightly limited in its use compared with the Vango.

We love this tent. It is so easy to put up and take down and theres lots of room in the living area. The sleeping area is small and a bit claustrophobic. My head is often touching the sides of the compartment. We have 2 single air beds and space is tight. This tent does really well in bad weather. You feel secure and safe. The 2 dogs sleep in the front area due to the lack of space in the sleeping area. This is only the second tent we have ever owned-the first one was very cheap and broke in bad winds near Snowdon!

This is a good tent, we travel by motorbike and tow a small trailer, the tent fits on top of the trailer and doesn't take too much room, or weigh too heavy, plus you can stand in it, and there is room for 2 adults to sit comfortably inside if its raining. It's cosy without being too cramped and it's nice and sturdy. I agree about the front flap zip being difficult to reach, but thats the only real downside to it, once you have put it up a couple of times it becomes quite a doddle (2 people) I think it's really good value. Make sure you have a groundsheet.
