I've had mine since the early 90s, got it in a sale in blacks and never looked back.
I've used it in a variety of situations and lent it out several times and it's still going strong with no problems nearly 20 years on.
We've a larger tent for the family, but it's getting to the point where I'm considering a second Highlander and a day shelter instead

Excellent tent. Very easy and quick to erect and plenty of room for two. Stood up to horrendous weather in north of Scotland and always come out fine. I bought a second ground sheet that fits the footprint of the tent which helps the comfort as ground sheet in the tent very thin. I would certainly recommend.

We bought the Highlander as a quick overnight tent for touring from Bulgaria, Serbia and all the way up the Pyrenees. It stood up to both storms and sunshine with ease. I would recommend buying the storm guy kit as with it our Highlander withstood a night of force 9 wind and rain in Serbia and snow in Bulgaria! Well done Khyam for making this great tent.

I love my tent - literally up in 1 minute, albeit pegging out takes as long as all other tents. Perfect for overnighters and weekends away.
Really impressed with the space inside and porch useful for storage and very small cooking stove usage.
Package a bit bulky, but well worth putting up with for sheer ease of use!

Just bought this tent and used it once. We use it for Scout camp short breaks (2 nights max)as it is really quick and easy to put up. We managed to get a double airbed in and a roll mat for our 8 year old. Great tent nice and warm with 3 in pod and just enough room in porch area for rucksacks and coats. Would only buy Khyam as also have classic excell with annexe for our main tent .

I've just bought a Highlander to replace my much loved, 10 year old Khyam Eiger. I've done one trip in it so far and found it just as easy to erect (less than one minute), and just as robust and weatherproof. The extra bit of porch space and all the pockets in the front are really useful. I'm confident it will prove to be as hard wearing and sturdy as my old tent.

Excellent tent, Very quick and easy to erect and has stood up to some horrendous weather including camping on a site on a cliff edge in Scotland in a massive storm and have had no problems. It still looks as good as the day we bought it and I would definitely buy Khayam again.

Our old Khyam was well used and well loved. We have had it years and it has travelled all over the world with us strapped onto the back of our motorbike. It was easy to erect and lightweight. It has stood up to all types of weather including horrendous winds and has never let us down. We have just reluctantly replaced it with a new one as it was looking a little faded and worn. We really hope that the new one serves us as well as its predecessor!
Khyam have got to be the best tent manufacturers in the world!

Just bought one of these alongside a day tent (Khyam) for when I go away on my own. Lightweight, easy to pitch and very strong. I saw it on the gadget show a couple of months ago and it stood up to extreme testing much better than a more expensive tent - just what I'd expect from Khyam.

Great tent, easy to pitch, had it nearly ten years and used approx 300 nights in that time still going strong, would suggest its worth getting the storm guys

Manufacturer's Description
Another of our tents benefiting from the unique Khyam Rapidex Quick Erect pole system. The Highlander has for many years been a firm favourite within the Khyam brand. The Rapidex Quick Erect system means all of the poles remain sewn in to the flysheet when the tent is packed away. To pitch you simply, unfold the tent, lock and the joints into place within a matter of seconds. Ideal for festivals, auto-touring or just those occasions when you need a reliable tent that is ready in seconds.
The Highlander is perfect for touring, pitching and striking down takes a matter of minutes, so you know that you can move from site to site with ease. The floorplan of the Khyam Highlander is hex-shaped and the generous breathable polyester inner tent with sewn-in groundsheet is ideal for up to 3 people. The front porch provides a nice area to store your gear or have your morning cuppa, with extra storage space to the rear of the inner tent.
Technically, the Highlander benefits from using the Khyam commissioned WeatherWeave Pro flysheet, with taped seams and additional polyurethane coating ensures excellent hydrostatic performance. The tried and tested Rapidex Quick Erect pole system uses strong, solid fibrelass poles and durable, hard wearing nylon auto joints. With a little bit of practice the Highlander can be pitched within 30 seconds!
Optional extras for the Khyam Highlander include a tailored footprint SPS groundsheet. This great accessory will provide protection for inner tent groundsheet, and add a groundsheet to the porch area to keep your belongs clean and dry. Also available is the Flexidome storm kit to provide extra stability in windy conditions.
