1 Reviews of the Micropack

By: Redriot46fa  Reason: I've used one  Made in: 2008   Rating:

I have just used this tent for 2 nights/3 days camping near Bristol and I can only say that it was 'ok'. It packs very small and was ideal for use on my motorcycle. It is also light at 4.5kg. It is very easy to put together as all of the poles are sewn in and just clip together at 8 points, meaning you can literally pitch it is seconds. It was very waterproof as we had a lot of rain and no water came in at all.

However, It is very small inside. I am only 5 foot 8 and I had real problems getting in and out without touching the outer sheet and getting my back soaked. I also found it impossible to move around inside as the space inside is very limited. I only had a single airbed and my kit in there and it was very very cramped! There is a small front and back porch area but they are both small. Again, it is hard not to put things against the outer sheet to avoid getting them soaked. Being Khyam the tent was very well made with doors each side and a solid door and mesh door each side also. The kit also comes with poles to prop the front door open into a porch. There are a lot of storage pockets in the tent and it is as easy to pack away as it was to put up, fitting back into the bag nicely.

If your going to a festival or travel light then this tent is ideal, but if your a serious camper and want some room to move then buy something bigger! I do feel that this tent is very expensive at £145 new. I can and have bought a much bigger tent that packs to the same size for £60 and to be honest it is bigger and better, but heavier.
