1 Reviews of the Toronto
By: G.schofield Reason: I own(ed) one Made in: 2009 Rating:
We purchased this tent as used off eBay. Being complete tent novices we did some research and decided we wanted a tent that didn't allow draughts/bugs or rain in. We also needed a good head height for our ever growing 16 year old son (5'11') and 14 year old daughter, a social area for eating and an area for cooking. It has two double bedrooms (separate pods which is essential with teenagers) and one large room which can be divided into two doubles, or used as we did as a large ensuite (porta potti) and wardrobe space. The sewn in groundsheet made the tent warm and homely.
This tent delivered on all counts. We used it for the first time on a family get together near Southport. As with our typical English weather it bucketed down with rain all night. Having the 5000 hydrostatic head, the tent held fast and stayed dry as a bone inside, shame the same couldn't be said for my sisters brand new vis a vis tesco model, which was swimming! We found the tent easy to erect, made even easier by the footprint that came with it. All the poles are colour coded to match each sleeve and the built in porch (which can also be used as a bedroom) was brilliant for cooking in and watching the day go by. We also got the carpet in the package, which makes the living area lovely and warm. My family were so impressed with this tent that they are now looking for one themselves and we have already booked for a long weekend in the lakes.
My teenagers weren't very keen on camping to start with, but after spending the weekend in the Toronto, they can't wait for the next trip!
