1 Reviews of the Tourer 400 Plus
By: Emmas Bloke Reason: I own(ed) one Made in: 2013 Rating:
Had 3 Khyams so far a small 2 man one years back for throwing on the bike and a Megadome which eventually succumbed to Uv and the elements after 12 years I think of use. Love the 'pop up' aspect of the Khyam range and trawled and checked the websites and opted for the 400 plus as it seemed to fit our requirements. After the last 2 weeks mooching around Belgium, Holland, Germany and finishing up in Normandy, I have grown to love this tent, my wife loves it too as she insists on a full size bed, scatter cushions and valances (I'm only slightly joking here) and the ability to stand up. I like the separate zip for chucking the hook up through, the stability ( tested on the very exposed Molls Field at Manor farm, West Runton in a howling gale).
The large main door and the ( gotta nip for a quick wee, smaller 'escape door') my only gripe is that this does not have mesh on it which is why I haven't given it 10/10) I'd like to be able to vent it through when it's warmer. A very comfy and good looking tent that whilst in Europe gained us some appreciative nods from passers by. Not sure it weighs 20kg as I can easily heft it into the boot on my own, it packs down brilliantly and is never in need of being beaten back into its bag, which in a scorching hot day is very welcome.
We bought the annexe at the same time and this is equally as robust and functional, our only gripe on the annexe is that unless you are 6ft with arms like a gibbon ( as my other half describes me) you will have difficulty tying of the little straps to the main tents external roof poles, although the outer ones which are reachable by 'hobbits' will suffice e unless it gets really gusty. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this tent, the qualities excellent and it's a pleasure to live with and in.

Manufacturer's Description
Another model back by popular demand, The Tourer 400 Plus offers 4 berth sleeping accomodation with a generous central living area. The fully sewn in groundsheet keeps the living and sleeping area free from bugs and draughts. As with the original Tourer, the telescopic frame allows the Tourer 400 Plus to be packed down into a compact carry bag, taking up less space in the boot. We also recommend the use of our tailored SPS Groundsheets which will protect your integral groundsheet from sharp stones and also keep it clean and dry.
