5 Reviews of the Cologne 9

Had this tent for a while and have only just worked out why we couldn't put it up when we first tried - as everyone else has found the coloured poles do not correspond to the coloured sleeves. Pretty easy erection once we worked this out. Haven't camped in it yet (it's currently staked out in our garden) but am looking forward to it. As per previous reviews - unless you are extremely friendly with your bedmates I would say 9 would be a squeeze. Plenty of room in the central area. Overall pretty pleased with the tent given the reasonable price I paid.

Good tent. Did not leak even in torrential rain and high winds. However 9 people would be a squeeze was fine for me, my wife and 3 sons aged 13,9,and 4. Bedrooms windproof. First time camper, ME and my 13 yr old son managed to pitch the tent in 45 mins. A failing is the length of the bedrooms. I am 6 foot and my feet were hard up against the end. Next night had to sleep widthways to fit.

Since my last review, I have used our tent in 'usual' summer weather - high winds and rain. On erecting, one of the poles snapped, duck tape held it but it did mean the bedroom was mis shapen. During a shower, all seemed fine, but after about an hour of heavy rain and high winds, the seams started to leak in many places, even though we had treated it with waterproofing. Managed to dismantle everything in 38 minutes!

I agree very much with the previous comments. We paid £50.00 including delivery. We were concerned that a 9 berth tent wouldn't fit in our garden on our first 'put up' but we managed! Just read, 'red poles in blue sleeves, blue poles in red sleeves' and assembly is fine! It took my husband and 17 year old son about an hour to get the bulk of it done.
I'm not sure it could be deemed a 9 berth, but there was plenty of room for our family of 4 and would probably stretch to a couple of grandparents.
It's not been tested in the rain but did spray with a few can of waterproofing just in case.
The only other problem was the inner lining of the third pod did tend to sag a bit but my daughter just pushed her bag up against the outer wall.O.K until it rains I suppose.
Overall we are very happy with our purchase.

I purchased one of these tents on ebay through a company called tentastic. Purchase price including delivery was £55.00. Which is a very good price.
We made a point of putting the tent up before we went away, which is a good idea, and im glad we did.
First thing to do - put the instructions in the bin, that is all there good for !
The first problem we had was the tent was stuck together we had to spend a good half an hour pulling it apart.
The second problem was the red poles do not go in the red sleeves they go in the blue. The same applys for the blue poles as well.
Once you get over these problems the tent goes up very quickly and easily.
Its quite roomy,it would be a bit tight for 9 people but for 6 people no problem.
I don't know how it would stand up in the rain because I've only used it twice.
But for the money I paid for it im very pleased with it
