5 Reviews of the Fulda 12

By: Chickens6  Reason: I own(ed) one  Made in: 2008   Rating:

Have camped in our Leben Fulda about 8 times and each time never failed to disappoint. The boys happy in one pod whilst me and hubby in another leaving the spare pod free for our stuff. This means the inner middle section is free for living unlike other tents we have owned where you struggle to 'live' amongst the stuff you need for camping.Food, clothes etc etc.

Another plus feature is the 2 zipped entrances to the outside, meaning a back and front door, really handy for access to car, toilet block etc etc.

Can't recommend enough & huge value for money !

Completely waterproof as well as the most spacious tent ever.

Used this tent for the last 3 years and was our starter tent for my family of 7. I used in some really bad weather and never leaked, stood up to some really strong winds without a scratch. Time how has now come to upgrade and have just bought an Outwell Maryland XL which ill review in a couple of weeks when I use it for the first time.

Anyway back to this one, great large starter tent, but really lacks head room in the bedrooms, and the main dome as a lot of space but again lacks head room around the outside.

All in all I'll give it a 6 out of 10, it served us well for 3 seasons.

Hi we used our 12 man for a week in Wales it stood up well to wind and rain (although admittedly it wasn't hard rain). No leaks though. I agree that actually it is more like a 9 man instead of a 12 (I guess you could fit 4 in each room if not on airbeds). Anyway it was a great tent and overall am really pleased with it. The groundsheet does seem a little on the small side, but for the price an economic and easy to put up tent.

I have a Leben Fulda 12. I agree with jaquimurray, The bedrooms are probably better with only 3 people in. I attempted 3 times to put my tent up. First time was a failure (unfortunately it was after a year). The end (red) bedroom poles would not go onto the hooks. The poles seemed too long. The second time was a bit better. We managed to put two of the three end bedroom poles in (with a struggle). We discovered that the material on one of the bedroom roofs was puckered and had been sewn a bit short. This is why the pole would not go into the hooks on the end.

I decided to go to the lake district with a friend and some family members. We managed to get the tent up but the 'puckered' bedroom pole would NOT go into the hook. Three of us tried to get it in. Consequently the pole snapped. We made the best of a bad job and with guide ropes, tent pegs and no wind, the tent was fine. I must admit though, it IS a lovely tent. Plenty of living area space. I'm just dissapointed that, when I sent Leben an e-mail telling them about the problem, they said that, unfortunately they don't make the Fulda 12 now and I could get tent poles from any camping supply shop. The Hamburg is exactly the same specs as the Fulda. I was asking to buy a pole Not get one for free! All in all, a great tent but company is not much help.

This tent stood up to horrendous weather this weekend with only a few drips! This despite the fact that the quality was a little dubious. One of the orange hoops that held the flysheet in place came off when erecting the tent, then when I looked the sewing that had held it in place had literally just unravelled!

It says this is a 12 man but we can only fit 3 in each bedroom at a push, so think it is more a 9 man and the groundsheet is not quite large enough, but for what we paid for it we were quite impressed.

It is now called the Hamburg by Leben but it is exactly the same tent, just been renamed by tentastic!
