4 Reviews of the Munich 8
By: Landimad Reason: I own(ed) one Made in: 2010 Rating:
We have owned this tent for a few years and have found it to be of a good standard. There is more than enough room for eight people and if anchored down properly it can withstand most weather thrown at it. The trick is to peg down the base of the tent and then add another peg to the clip which the elastic is held onto. It maybe thin, but it has done the job of protecting the family without the need of extra sheeting. The zips are fine and if not tensioned to much will hold. In all we took 30 mins to erect it and the only fault or improvement would be a fixed groundsheet not loose ones.

We bought this tent on ebay for around a hundred pounds and have found it good value for money. The tent pegs were poor quality but have been used on four occasions and they have been ok. The poles were a bit of a tight fit but with a bit of patience we got there in the end. There is plenty of room in this tent with good sized bedrooms and living area. There is no sewn in groundsheet and we were very cold during bad weather at night and needed to buy extra bedding to keep warm whilst away. However, the tent never moved in bad weather. Overall, we have found the tent be pretty good.

We bought one of these tents and after one camping trip we got rid of it straight away! It was so thin and cheap. Took ages to put up. Zips broke within 5 mins on both sides. The bottom sides don't touch the ground so you are left with a large gap! Its very light so once the sun is up you get blinded. Very hot during the day as it only has 2 air vents, and the bedroom compartments never fitted. Really wouldn't recommend this tent. Spend a little bit more and buy a better one like the Gelert Meridian!

I'm not saying this is a bad tent, I was happy with it but no matter what the outside weather, I am always frozen at night. So I have come to the conclusion that it is rather draughty. The walls of the tent do not touch the floor, infact they are about 3 inches off the floor so not only can the cold come in, bugs and small mammals can come in too so it's not the best.
