2 Reviews of the Strathy 2
By: Penelopepurple Reason: I own(ed) one Made in: 2013 Rating:
This gets 10 out of 10 for a cheap tent. I have just camped in it during a week of bright sun, heavy, thundery showers and wind. It stayed stable and waterproof and the ventilation is great.
Plus points: front and rear door
Vents on outer and inner tent
Mesh panels on both inner doors and in corners
Good headroom
Roomy porch with inegral ground sheet
Double ended sip on front inner door
Minus points:
The doors slope inwards towards top, so rain/drips come in when you open them
Lack of refinement as you can expect with a cheap basic tent, eg. One way zips, crackly groundsheet

Overall a nice little cheap & cheerful tent. Good quality and well made. Perfect for one person with a lot of gear, would be a squeeze for two unless you travel light!
Pros:
* Two doors - very good for ventilation in hot weather, also you can dump wet/muddy kit in the porch and still get in and out without climbing over it.
* Lots of room in porch to store kit
* Roomy inside - tall enough for me to kneel up at 5'4'.
Cons:
* No stuff pocket for the inner doors, only loops and toggles
* No curtains for the clear windows
* Light coloured outer and yellow inner make it very bright inside. Good if you like that but don't buy this if the morning sun wakes you up too early.
