6 Reviews of the Treklite 200

Do NOT use this tent at higher altitudes. I had hoped to camp on way to Munro Seana Bhraigh and pitched at about 600 metres above sea level. Fortunately I camped early as rising gale force winds knocked down the tent bending the larger of the two poles. I decamped and descended the hill to hostel accommodation. Managed to sort the poles and tent is OK now but used only for low level camping.

I have owned this tent for 18 months now and confirm it was a real bargain from argos. I see you can still buy these sometimes from ebay, my advice is if you can get one for £40 or less, then it would be a very good choice. I do concur with the other reviews about its small size though. I use it as a one man tent so for me is ok. Rock solid in wind , I love the outer tent tensioning straps so you can make minor adjustments without re-pegging.
Also this tent is absolutely waterproof , I have been in horrendous rain and it remained dry inside.
No condensation as the tent is so well Vented which can make it a little cool in wind. I HAVE GOT AROUND THIS PROBLEM BY GUYING SO HEAD VENT AND FOOT VENT ARE HALF CLOSED.
In summary a great little tent,, that can withstand severe weather well.

This is my first backpacking tent and I'm very pleased with it for summer use. Packs small, light to carry, really well ventilated and sturdy once pitched. Like others I got it from Ebay in Argos's clearance sale and it's great for what I paid, but inner first pitching means it won't be much use for all-weather hiking trips.
It's basically a budget version of a Vango Banshee 200, with less hydrostatic head and no all-in-one pitching option. If I wanted to do serious hiking in unpredictable weather I'd upgrade to the Vango one.
I'm 5'4' and found I could fit myself, pack, Thermarest Prolite and gear inside it comfortably. I could sit up without hitting my head as long as I didn't have the supplied mesh pocket in place.

Bought it from Argos outlet on eBay at bargain price £19.99. Seemed like very good value to me and it did not disappoint. It very small and lightweight, perfect for hiking. Compared to other tents with this spec it is amazing for £19.99. Haven't tried it in the rain yet, however it is well ventilated, but with a sewn-in ground sheet, I'm expecting it to perform pretty well. Very light, but strong aluminium poles, and comes with lightweight pegs. Can be put up in around 5mins and put down just as quick. Fits in it's handy compression sack very well.
Down side to the tent is it is inner first pitch, however for the price I can't complain. It is also really a one man tent, and I'm 6' 0 and I can just fit in it (tip: sleep the wrong way round. You'll find life much easier)
All in all I think I have found an excellent tent, for the value and I would have happily paid £50 - 100 for this tent.

I'm only 5ft 5 and struggle to fit in it with the dog so would say this is only a one man tent not two. It's hydrostatic Head is 3000 and it really is comforting to be dry in heavy rain. It fits easily into my backpack and is light. Colour is a bit of a pain as it sticks out so you can't really wildcamp with it. My main gripe would be the size when your trying to keep everything dry at night and your rucksack is stuck in the small area outside. Used it in frosty conditions December 2008 and couldn't keep warm as it is so well ventilated, but great in the summer.

Bought one from Argos in Sale for £50
Got it because I am 6ft 1in in bare feet and wanted a backpacking tent I could fit in.
Inner Pitch first
I can use this as long as I use a thin mat nothing to thick else I would touch the ends and have condensation problems.
It is a very noticeable Blue so not for discreet wild camping unless high up in the Mountains.
Only other gripe is that is 2KG as stated on the Guarantee card that comes with it and not the 1.9 claimed on Argos site. The dimension on the Specification card are smaller than Argos List. Also a repair kit is claimed supplied on the Guarantee card but no such Item with Tent.
I mark it down only because of poor support from Maker and supplier. Twice I contacted Lichfield by internet and been ignored.
I contacted Argos and got a Email saying they aim to reply in 24 hours and got a Email with a customer ref. 7 days later still no contact from either beyond what already stated!
