Having attended a major outdoor event for many years, but now too large to see in one day, we decided to try camping for the first time. As we were unsure whether we would like camping, we looked for a reasonably priced tent which was tall enough to stand up in and easy to erect, with colour-coded poles and a clear (waterproof!) instruction manual.

This tent fulfilled all our requirements. It has both front and rear doors, which was particularly useful as we could place our loo tent right by the rear door adjacent to the bedrooms, and both doors can be used as sun awnings with poles provided. We were particularly impressed with the sturdy design of the bedrooms, which have a double zipped partition and both front and rear doors. The bedrooms have a built-in ground sheet, although the living space has a separate one. A good tip is to make sure you pull this ground sheet right up to the bedrooms before pegging so that rainwater does not run underneath. The tent was waterproof after a night of heavy rain.

There is a window in the roof and on the front door, although you may wish to make a screen for the front window, and there are meshed ventilators on each side of the tent with zip closures. We would recommend this tent to anyone taking their first camping trip.

I've bought it new from Lidls in June 2011. This is our first tent so first impression was ok but as usual devil is in the details.

On good side:

- once you erect it for the first time and attach all ropes to the tent it's easy and quick + poles are colour coded.

- there's one piece bedrooms set which has partition to separate. Once rolled up it gives nice large open spaced bedroom with two separate airbed compartments - perfect when camping with kids.

- lots of handy pockets in bedrooms for small bits and bobs (kept mobiles, torch, money etc. During night time)

- large roof window gives extra portion of daylight when the weather keeps you inside tent.

On bad:

- living area floor is just a piece of ground sheet which is a bit too small so while entering bedroom one usually stand on wet grass.

- front door window - gives no privacy when you want to stay in living area or just want to change clothes.

- inside tent washing line is rubbish as 2 wet towels are too heavy for that.

After two cold nights last time we've decided we need tent with watertight zipped floor - which obviously keeps rain water away from living area (in this tent it's a nightmare) but also keep temp bit up in colder nights and keeps all bugs away.

Look forward for selling it next year and get one with zipped floor.

Overall as a first tent it's not so bad but think not worth the money.

When packed tent is very handy (25x25x71cm) which is big plus and space saver.
