We purchased this tent back in the early 90s and have just started using it again as a quick weekend getaway tent. We can pitch it and get moved in in about 1/2 hour which is about a third of the time it takes to pitch our Outwell Bear lake 6.
We sleep two adults and 2 kids. One issue is that modern airbeds etc tend to be around 2m long which is too long for the inner on this tent. The Vango self inflating mattresses are around 185 cm and fit ok, though.
Plus points; all the advantages of a sturdy canvas (or is it polycotton?) tent. Too many to list here
Minus points;
- no SIG so expect dive bombing daddy long legs
-windows; only a small opaque window in the kitchen 'extension'. There are two roll up flaps that reveal mesh windows, but these aren't suitable for use in wet weather
-mudflaps; when pegged out these have a number of pools that occur where the main tent is pegged. Dew and rain collects here and takes a long time to dry unless you manually push down on the mudflap to drain them.
Apart from the above which are minor niggles, this is a good quality tent; still going strong after many years.
