Yep, it's big and heavy. But we think its beautiful. We have just been on our first trip to France with it, 4 weeks split over 2 sites. Bit of a chore getting it all down and packed away to go to 2nd site.Not sure we would do that again. Probably opt to stay in on one site for the whole 3-4 weeks.
We had thunder/lightening storms for 3 solid days.No problem with water ingress and the tent behaved perfectly. We check/tighten our lines each day to be safe anyway. Pegs that came with the tent were fine for the first site (La Perche area), but we needed the rock pegs for second site (Plateau de Millevaches, Creuse). We are only two people and a small dog.But we like our comforts and have a lot of stuff which we fill the tent with. The sleeping compartment has a centre dividing wall which we keep rolled up so that we can fit our full height double Aerobed in, plus cupboards each side :o)
Kitchen extension bit on the side, worked great, could leave the vented window open for cooking and because it was in a vertical 'wall' didn't have a problem with rain.
Rest of stay we had temperatures ranging from 10-32degC, temperature in tent ranged between 8-48degC. Front mesh screen door that can be fitted in awning was perfect in the evening when the field we were in became of veritable bug fest. So far we are loving this new tent and haven't discovered any problems.
