Our first camping trip was over 30yrs ago now where we slept in a canvas tent with no sewn in ground sheet, we have had a nylon tent since, that also did not have a sewn in ground sheet. We decided in 2008 that we would try a new tent with a sewn in ground sheet, what heaven, we have had our Bibury for 4 yrs now and we do not regret buying it. We have been through some really rough weather in it and it stood up too all of it, when I say bad weather I mean bad weather, we were in Cornwall the first year where it rained and rained but we did not get wet ( we have on several other holidays in different tents) We took it to Snowdonia last year which gave us gales and as much rain as I want to see in my life time but did we get wet no! The poles were nearly touching the floor inside the tent, we thought it would not be able to take too much more but it withstood it all, we were dry warm and very relieved that we had chosen the Bibury, I have never had a tent go though so much and it still be standing in the morning. I don't think Attwools would be able to say that their tents were that strong but believe me when I say they are pretty good tents.I would love to go up a size but there is no need now as we are only 2, so go for it give it a try for Ł200 you are not taking that much of a gamble are you? So what that the inner goes up first that's just a tiny inconvenience! Keep up the good work Attwools! We will be back :-)

I own the Attwoolls Bibury and think it is an excellent tent, sturdy and waterproof. The only downfalls are the fact that the inner goes up first not ideal if its raining, but on the plus side is easy to put up and only takes about 10/15 mins, and once the heater is plugged in dries in no time at all, the other downfall in the bedroom dividers, they are zipped curtains that hang, not ideal if you intend to go away with friends, but is absolutely fine for a family, or couple. As its only myself and the OH it's ideal for us, as we only have one bedroom set up, and a large living area.

The tent is very roomy, and you can stand in it, for a first tent I find it hard to complain about, and hopefully we will have many more years from it.

We had reservations about buying a local company tent, but im glad we did. I'm not one to go in with the my tent is better than your tent attitude.

I would definitely recommend this tent to friends and family, and think that more people should give attwools tents a go.

I would also like to add that I have now found out that this tent is made by Kyham for attwoolls, so is of good build quality.

Absolutely love this tent and actually prefer the vis a vis style! The more I use it the more I love it, and cant believe that one of the reviews was so bad! I shall definitely be recommending this tent on the forum.

It is interesting to see the below review.

Initially we loved the layout of this tent so purchased one.

During the first camping trip it did not pitch well and we found that if it wasnt pegged very tightly in the corners then the inner would get wet in the rain.

When the corners were pegged tightly one of the outer doors would not shut, this meant we had to peg it down,(through and eylet) not ideal as wind and rain could get in to the inner area.

The poles are flimsy and do not sit well, the outer fly moves upwards and laterally over the inner / poles.

The second trip, (sheltered and flat pitch) was exactly the same.

I urge people not to buy this tent and buy a named brand.

More disappointing is the fact that when I discussed the problems with the supplier they were not interested in my problem and suggested I did not know how to pitch a tent, very patronising bearing in mind I have been camping for 30 years!

I borrowed this tent from my dad to use for my camping holiday, and although I looked at it and didn't think it was a good enough tent, I absolutely LOVED it, and would consider buying one myself!

It was incredibly simple to put up, after a practise go in my brother's garden, two of us could get it up in about 10 minutes before pegging it out. If I wasn't so short (just over 5ft) I have no doubt I could do this by myself but I struggle to get the outer tent over the top of the inner. My dad can put it up by himself easily.

For the two of us it was perfect. We put the one bedroom curtain up (it doesn't have bedroom compartments, just separator curtains) and instead of having our double airbed lengthways as shown on the picture, we had it in the middle so that we could both get up on our own side of the bed, and the very bottom of the bed stuck out just a cm or so from the curtain which was fine. We had the curtain up purely for getting dressed in the tent, and there are little pockets in the bedroom area for storage as well, which I found handy for the torch and to keep my glasses in during the night :)

The rest of the tent was our living area, with plenty of space for 2 chairs, table, mini fridge, racking for food, the cooker stand when not in use, and still room to move about.

We had both doors open on both sides to let a breeze go through the tent during the day, and I loved the window options. There are windows in the bedroom compartments, and in the main living area (this is on the door), all with 'curtains', so you can pick and choose how you have them. As we didn't have the other bedroom area, we had that open in our living area to let in light, and it was nice to unzip a small section in the mornings in our bedroom to see what the weather was like without even getting out of bed.

We had a thunderstorm with heavy rain one night, and there no leaks or problems.

Overall, a lovely tent for two people or a young family, but because of the curtain separator and not a proper bedroom compartment you may not want to use it camping with friends as it doesn't provide a whole lot of privacy within the tent.
