This tent lives on and on and it still looks like new. The quality is superb and it is very quick and easy to put up, take down and pack away. It has never let in any rain. It is classed as a three man though is better suited to two (many other tents are classed the same). It is important, again like many other tents, to use the ventilation system to avoid condensation. There are plenty of helpful storage features, a sensibly placed electric port and the windows are the perfect size for light but also give enough privacy. The flyscreen in the door is a real bonus. We fit a cupboard, electric cool box, large plastic box, two chairs in the front living area with some room to spare. The sleeping area holds a double airbed with room down each side for clothes (or a third person) etc. I recommend this tent for beginners or stalwarts alike.

I bought my Lomomnd 3.1 in a Millets sale, on 20% day too, for Ł112 and it's the best tent I've ever owned. The quality throughout is fantastic and a lot of thought has gone into the design of this tent. It can be erected single handed with care but makes an excellent two man weekend tent for a couple with a car. There is plenty of room in the sleeping area for a double air bed and bags. The porch is tall enough to stand in and there is room for a couple of chairs and a small table. The porch door, screen, vent system and windows work well when wet if pitched down wind as recommended. Do open the porch roof vents for ventilation as the tent is so watertight condensation is an issue with wet things and cooking (not that anyone recommends cooking inside tents!) Take care too when placing chairs and tables in the porch as the sewn in ground sheet curves up at the sides. If the tent is packed when wet for drying later this can take a while because the fabric is so waterproof. I found that water can get trapped in the porch vent system.

Even during heavy rain, the porch door can still be left open if the support poles are angled to allow water to run away. The only design oversight is that there is no way to feed an electric light cable into the sleeping area although velcro ties are provided? Fortunately this can be easy overcome with some careful cutting and sewing. During very windy weather the rear vent can flap but I found that this can be reduced by pinning the two guys down with a couple of spare pegs.

I've already used this tent for several week ends and for a week alone in North Wales. I have been very, very impressed. May be I should have bought two!

As a couple we upgraded to this tent as it allows you to stand up, as well as sit inside the porch with two chairs and a small table (a massive bonus when it's raining or howling with wind). A huge amount of thought has gone into the features of this tent. We found it really easy to put up by two people and really sturdy in windy conditions.

Although it looks HUGE in height, its footprint is not much larger than smaller 3 man tents.

My main concern is I woke up one morning with a big wet patch on my sleeping bag, suggesting condensation is a problem as there was no rain in the night. I was also disappointed with the zip to the inner tent, which only opens 'anti clockwise left to right to left'. This means if you're sleeping on the left hand side of the tent, you either have to open the door fully to go to bed, or clamber over the person on the right hand side.

But overall, not a bad tent for a couple.

Further to my previous review, I've now tested this out in the Lakes and am still very happy :-)

Had some varying weather conditions which ranged from freezing (-4) night and 24 hours of heavy rain and strong winds. The Lomond stood up to all very well, shrugging off the rain and holding shape in the winds. The clever roof venting system works really well, although on the coldest night I closed these and suffered some condensation - but nearly as much as I have experienced in other tents.

There are lots of storage pockets in the both the living and sleeping areas, as well as an unusual roof storage net. Velcro cable ties and lamp hanging points are in both the living and bedroom areas, although there's no way of feeding the cable into the bedroom except through the zipped door (?).

I love the guy rope popper fasteners - much better than velcro ones I've had on our Outwell tents - in fact the whole tent is very well made and thought out.

There is plenty of room inside for two in comfort - three would probably fit in the bedroom, but then it would be a squeeze in the living area and no room for gear. For me and my dog it was like a palace - I was able to use my huge airbed, and sit and stow all my gear with ease. Unlike the other review I liked the windows, which made the tent seem more spacious and airy when I was confined to it by the rain. The outer material is very dark, which is great when trying to have a morning lie in!

I added a tarp to help cover the door and keep access dry, and also used a separate groundsheet as have long been converted to using footprints. Would be nice to see a proper footprint and carpet to make things nice and snug. This would satisfy my only real concern than the sewn in groundsheet does seem a little thin under foot.

Big plus is I am able to easily pitch this tent on my own.

Just received delivery of this tent, so had a practise garden pitch but am away in the Lakes this weekend so will give another review then.

Initial look I am very happy with the tent. It looks well made, and there are lots of great features. The tent is very easy to pitch, even on my own it only took 20 mins first time. The poles are made of a very light aluminium, which slide really easily into the pole sleeves - no cursing or frustration from snagging! A clever system instead of ring and pin also works well and saves the pole popping off the pin when pitching solo. Guy ropes are fastened back using a press stud - much easier than velcro, and lots of other little things that indicate this has been well thought out by someone who actually camps!

Once up the tent is standing height, good sized inner (fine for 2 plus some gear) and a reasonable living area - not massive but OK. Good storage pockets sewn in and an interesting roof storage net and vent system which needs investigating. Full front door with secondary mesh, and a well placed electric port, cleverly hidden behind the door flap to keep out any adverse weather.

Full retail price is Ł249 but at the moment is available online at Ł125 - a bargain! Fab tent, can't wait to put it to a proper test.

Not the prettiest tent but it oozes quality. The roof ventilation system works brilliantly and I experienced no condensation in the tent. The full zipped net on the door is a really good feature. The alloy poles are very easy to insert making the tent a doddle to erect on my own. Once up you have loads of space and full standing height in a very stable design. I am not a windows fan and would prefer future models to dispense with the middle door window and to reduce the side windows to half there size. The tent is a bit pricey at the full retail price of Ł249 but is a top notch product. I would really like the option of a polycotton version, but with the Berghaus name I might need a mortgage to own one! A great tent.
