1 Reviews of the Berghaus Peak 3.3 Pro
By: Safetyguy Reason: I own(ed) one Made in: 2016 Rating:
This is a 3 person tent but, I'll only be using it for me because I have some issues with arthritis and a bad back so I need a bit more room.
I was looking for something that was light enough, for backpacking/hiking, but roomy enough to allow me to sleep in comfort. I was looking at several but this caught my eye, mainly because of 'spec's' -vs- price, a couple of pence short of £180! (if you don't need the extra spec's, there's a 'regular version of this tent (3000hh instead of 5000hh) for £99) Easy to pitch and the inner can be left in to make it 'easier'.
These are not 'actually' Berghaus but made specially for Millets/Blacks. However, that didn't put me off, I believe the tent I've bought is worth the money. I saw a review on the millets site that said that the poles were 'flimsy' but they're aluminium and as with any tent with this type of poles, you'll break a pole if you're rough or heavy handed with them. I've had no issues at all. The fly is silicone coated rip-stop and comes with a repair kit. It also comes with lightweight aluminium 'v' pegs instead of the bits of bent fence-wire that usually come as standard. Of course, there was the mandatory rain on the first night - if there were any issues with leaks on first use, it'd have gone back! The inner door is zipped almost all the way around and there's a pocket to store it in. Plenty of storage space under cover for backpacks, boots and other stuff at the front. Yes, someone will find a better tent but I'm happy with what I've bought.
