1 Reviews of the Berghaus Telstar 5

By: Helenswright  Reason: I own(ed) one  Made in: 2023   Rating:

Wow! What a fantastic tent! We bought this air tent as an upgrade from a Coleman Mosedale 5 with front extension. We felt that the time was right to move onto an air tent as they have been around for a while now and we wanted the ease of being able to pitch a tent without the faff of poles getting snagged in sleeves or breaking. (And we're not getting any younger!)

We specifically went for this tent as it comes with a fully enclosed porch area but with the versatility to remove the doors. The porch has its own footprint and we used this area for our kitchen.

The tent itself is tunnel style with 5 air poles and a fully sewn in groundsheet. It took less than 10 minutes to inflate all the poles and have the tent upright. It took probably another 5 to 10 minutes to peg out the brailings and corner and storm guys to pitch the tent perfectly.

Access to the living area from the porch is via a large zipped door which can be fully adjusted. It has a mesh lining as well as a window with curtain. The living area is large, light and airy. We added the bespoke carpet to make it cosier. There a 2 large tinted windows with adjustable covers and storage pockets. There are also side doors which have mesh lining allowing for maximum ventilation. There are also high and low ventilation points either side of the tent together with cable entry points on both sides and a cable tidy and lantern hook on one of the air poles.

The bedroom has a zipped divider to allow for a 2 man / 3 man set up. We rolled the divider up and used the whole area for just the 2 of us which made for a very spacious bedroom. There are adjustable ventilation points in the bedroom area and storage pockets too. The bedroom is dark but not a complete blackout like our previous Coleman tent.

Berghaus market this tent as its premium product. Its certainly an expensive tent but the quality of the materials and zips, tinted windows and ease of pitching, make it well worth the money. We expect the tent to last us many years!
