2 Reviews of the Freedom Trail Ullswater 6

We brought this tent a few years back from Go Outdoors whilst we were looking for a suitable tent for 5 people.

I have a 6ft husband, a 6 foot son, a 13 year old, a 7 year old and myself (5'5) in there comfortably.

The tent itself has a dividing wall for the bedrooms bur we didn't bother to use it.

The first time I put it up with my husband - it took us half hour and an argument. The second time I enlisted mt scouting son and we had it up within 15 minutes with no arguments.

We recently used the tent for a weekend away camping and again it went up flawlessly. The only slight issue we had is the inner layer is attached by a small woggle and elastic system and we have found they have become a bit slack and loose but the tent still works perfectly fine.

Headspace was absolutely fine for my lofty mob as well.

I'm an early riser and the zips didn't make as much racket as I expected them too and didn't wake anyone. We left the window flaps up as well and it allowed plenty of light into the tent and we had no problems with condensation or the tent being too hot. On our arrival at our campsite the weather was really windy but the tent did really well and we had no issues with its strength or flexing in the wind .

I would definitely consider another ullswater again if I can find one that's a 3 or 4 bedroom space.

We brought this tent in a sale for just £59.99 and we would recommend it to anyone looking for a family tent on a budget. We looked about for a few weeks for a budget family size tent and found this one in a sale at go outdoors and we snapped it up. We got it home and pitched it up which took me and the Mrs about 25 mins and it was that easy we didn't even get into a bust up. The Bedroom is very big without the dividing wall up, once the wall is up it becomes two comfortable 3 berth bedrooms with more then enough room for our family (2 adults, 3 children). The living area is spacious and airy letting in plenty of light when the curtains are tied up, its big enough to put a table in and our family to sit around without being cramped for space, it also has good head hight I can stand up with room to spare in the bedroom and the living area. The build quality is very good for how much we paid, poles seem quite thick and sturdy, all the zips are easy to use and seem robust enough to cope with the kids pulling at them, The removable bath tub ground sheet is a great idea for making cleaning up after three kids easy. Then for the dreaded packing away but to our surprise it went back in the bag with no fuss at all, we just followed all the instructions that were stitched inside the bag. Overall a fantastic tent for the price we paid we cannot grumble at all.
