1 Reviews of the Mountain Hardwear Trango 3.1
By: MrVanilla Reason: I own(ed) one Made in: 2008 Rating:
If you want a tent that will not move, at all, in strong winds then the Mountain Hardwear Trango 3.1 could be for you.
I bought this tent on a whim in 2008 to use at Sennybridge Celiene training village for an airsoft event and it was lucky I did as my tent was the only one standing unscathed after 60mph winds.
This tent in my opinion is completely overkill for the UK climate as you would usually see these at Everest base camp however if you want a 3 man tent that will stand up to the worse of the UK weather then this tent ticks all the boxes.
Internally the tent takes on a futuristic feel and you can really appreciate the quality of the panel stitching. It also has an internal guy system whereby you can strengthen the tent via a number of pullcords.
I'd recommend buying it with the groundsheet as you can then use the pitch light option which brings the weight down to around 3.5kg.
If you want an ultimate hardcore tent or just fancy camping on the top of Nevis in a blizzard, you won't go far wrong with this tent :)
