1 Reviews of the Peakland Alport Tunnel
By: Paulnjulia Reason: I own(ed) one Made in: 2007 Rating:
We purchased this as an end of line from Yeomans. We bought it at 2pm and were pitching it at about 6pm! We hadn't pitched this type of tent before, but as half the fun is putting it up we didn't worry. We, being mum, dad, and four kids of various ages.
Once we realised the different parts had different functions we were away. The poles went together well, although one had severely frayed elastic, and would eventually snap a couple of expeditions later. (Although, Yeomans repaired them very well) The poles slid into place easily, and we soon bent them into shape and slipped them through the rings to form the tent shape, a guy rope at each end was all that was needed to produce a stable structure. The fly sheet was then pegged out using the rubber bands around the bottom of the tent while the other half of the family put up the two individual sleeping compartments.
It was quite easy for us, being inexperienced to erect, and now we have had it about two years we know what we're doing! lol. It can even be taken down and packed away, by just one person now!
One minor gripe is that the inner groundsheet seems to have been produced for a range of tents and did not snuggly fit the Alport, but maybe I'm just being picky!
