2 Reviews of the Peakland Denby 300

I own one of these tent, bought as a xmas present. As a first tent I can say that it was very easy to pitch and because of the overall height, the wind can not really hinder the pitching process. As the previous reviewer says, it is small and with a double airbed, there is no much room for anything else, a part from your essentials. The outside porch is very handy for storage for everthing you might need. Getting a third person in, I can't imagine how.

The zips are good quality and the materials does not seem to fray to get caught in the zips unlike other tents I have tried, and the dark blue outer shell and inner door are dark, so aiding sleep from those bright mornings!

All in all I would recommend this tent.

I purchased the Denby 300 last year on the last day of a Yeoman's outdoor sale for just £29.99 which was a bargain against the RRP of around £60. My wife and I have used it for the first time this year high up in the Peak District and despite my fears it stood up to all weathers including very heavy rain with no leaks.

Nice and easy to put up but don't forget as I did that the fly sheet has four small ties on the under side that attach it to the poles. I noticed this after I had just finished pegging out!

The separate ground sheet for just in side the entrance/porch is a real boon and well worth it.

The only observations that I can make and they are not negative as such is the space within. Not sure how you could get 3 people in here,it would be very cosy! There was only room for one double air bed and a small space down the side for bags and shoes etc. Plus I would add that allowing for the height of any airbed if used, this reduces the actual space available for lying down from 210 as stated in manufacturers info to just under that. I am 5,6 and I only just fitted when in the sleeping bag and head on pillow! (that's without distorting the inner tent) You don't want the inner and outer to touch of course!

One other thing, although holding together the stitching in places looks a little 'ropey' so keep an eye on that!

As a first tent your can't go wrong really.Especially at that price.
