7 Reviews of the Peakland Hartington

We bought this tent to use for weekends, as our 'big' tent takes ages to put up and is very bulky and heavy. This one certainly fits the bill. Husband has put it up single handed before, although easier with 2. Takes maybe 30 mins. We are a family of 2 adults and 2 small children, and it's ample room for a weekend. Slightly worried about the elastic which helps attach the bedrooms to the outer as the children tend to lean on the doors, and so have stretched this a bit too much - but for the price you can't really complain. Have been in it in belting down rain with no leaks, and also taken it on a plane to Spain. It's a nice compact tent. But no porch which we need for longer or rainy trips.

I bought this tent new and I have put it up 8 times.
Every time without fail one of the fibreglass poles split.
When a red one splits the sharp edge punctures the fabric and needs repairing. I fear that I may not be able to put the tent up at all and have no-where to stay. There is no-where else at music festivals.
I am currently looking for a steel poled tent which I can rely on. I then look forward to throwing the Hartington away.

Since buying this tent I've camped in winds that had other dome tents tearing and breaking but this one stood up to it all. It also does a great job of keeping the rain out.
For four people it might be a bit cramped, but for two people it's a very roomy tent. We either use the second bedroom for storage or leave it in the bag and enjoy the extra living space. The central area is tall enough to stand up in, and is fire retardant for those occasions when the weather won't let you cook outside.
With the colour coded poles it's simple and fast to pitch. Putting in all the guy ropes takes a while, but it's well worth it for a tent that stays solid in the wind.

We upgraded to this tent from a 3 man dome as we wanted room to stand up and extra storage space. It was recommended to us by a knowledgeable shop assistant who had used it themselves and we were told it was easy to erect. Very satisfied with this tent we have used it on several camping trips now and the guy in the shop was bang on with his advice. It is very easy to put up and I like the way the poles are colourmarked for you so you can't get it wrong! There are only two of us so we only put one of the bedrooms up and use the extra bedroom area for storage. Plenty of room to stand up and move about - handy also for 'eating in' on those windy nights as there is ample room for a camping table and two chairs. We have just returned from a weeks camping trip in Wales and the rain has lashed down in very windy conditions several nights running but we woke up to bone dry contents not a leak anywhere. A very sturdy little tent and good value for money which I can recommend.

Our first family of 4 tent. Did the job well & it survived some pretty horrendous conditions, we used her on five camping adventures before selling it on.(good as new). Great tent for the shorter camping break, cramped if you need to have your little luxury's along. Can't fault the quality. Value for money, it matches anything in its class I'd say.

Took a gamble with this tent as bought it on the day I had to use it. Was so easy to put up, 10 mins + 15 mins for guy ropes. Have camped 5 times, all with mixed weather, never leaked and has stood up to some fierce winds. This tent has so got us back into camping that next year we will probably upgrade to a hight HSH and SIG.BUT we will always hang on to this for friends and, dare I say, memories. Best used as a two man with only one bedroom plus a footprint groundsheet, this means bags of room and you can easily walk around inside!

The Peakland Hartington is probably our best value family dome tent with a bedroom either side of the central living area. There are doors on both sides of the Hartington one of which turns into a sun canopy.
