1 Reviews of the Walrus Armadillo

By: anniehm  Reason: I own(ed) one  Made in: 2001   Rating:

This is an excellent 4 season mountaineering tent bought in the USA. Whilst it is technically 4 berth, its pretty cosy, so more suited to a couple plus gear or younger kids. Put up correctly it is meant to withstand 150mph according to the handbook, we had a windstorm of around 80mph blow through (similar to a mini tornado) and it didn''''t budge, therefore perfect for the Yorkshire Moors or Scottish Highlands! If you want a good tent you have to pay, as with most things in life you get what you pay for, and this tent has given us over 10 years of use, and is only put to the back of the garage due to growing children needing their own beds (and my need for pump up air mattresses). Not sure if they are being made new anymore but if you are offered one second hand its well worth a look.
