Great tent for the family, would sleep 7 easily lots of room in bedroom and living areas. After a few practices the set up gets easier with the poles and when eventually up its a very sturdy tent. We have camped in strong winds on a cliff and it never moved.

The tents material is strong and there are ventilation flaps all the way down both sides.

We do get condensation on the ceiling in the mornings but we’ll aired should not be a problem, the rear can collect water if it rains but can be dealt with and before you put the poles up zip up

All around so not to stress the zips. And avoid repairs.

Overall rating . A great tent for the family which now can be picked up second hand at a reasonable price

I think it's an amazing tent but with a few problems like any other tent out there.

My problem is I find it very difficult to erect the tent with my wife, and taking the poles apart after.

Is there a video of someone putting the tent up or someone going on holiday in south Wales so I can come and watch/ help put it up.

All help would be greatly appreciated

In 2009 we walked around the camp site to see which tent we liked as we wanted to change from a trailer tent to a tent. As soon as I saw the Outwell Arkansas 7 I knew it was the one. The headroom is excellent and fantastic that the bedrooms can be joined together. The three issues we found were putting it up as there are only two of us but we seem to have mastered this. I would however not like to put it up on a windy day ! The second issue would be take the bars apart when taking the tent down, we have had to use a hammer at times. Finally it was quite difficult to get it into the bag but we have also mastered this. Overall though I would give this a 'Thumbs Up' and would recommend it, the footprint is a must as it really keeps the tent clean. I would recommend this tent for longer than a weekend, it’s like a home from home. I am so looking forward to camping this year.

Update of previous review - we've now used this tent for 6 holidays in 3 years and we're still delighted with it. We've got pitching (lifting the poles together and walking forward, leaving one behind at a time) off to a fine art! Getting those poles apart at the end is still a task, but husband and son have the knack - holding a pole one at each end and twisting it in opposite directions, first one way, then the other, whilst pulling apart. (We'll get round to some silicon spray one of these years!)

Had two tremendous thunderstorms this year in France, with rain so heavy we couldn't hear each other even shouting. No problem for Arky7! The welt at the back of the tent can gather puddles though, so shake off afterwards.

This tent still gets lots of attention from other campers, and we're noticing that people are asking if we've just got it. Must be wearing well.

It's proved to be a very versatile, all weather tent and we're very happy with it.

Oh, and the rod bag hasn't given out yet!

We purchased the 2011 model of the Outwell Arkansas 7 after spending a number of weeks deciding which new tent we'd upgrade too. Having heard so many good things about Outwell we decided that's what we'd go for seeing as we'd enjoyed camping and wanted to go for a more 'expensive' tent.

The Arkansas 7 has not been a disappointment. The sheer size of this Tunnel is fantastic, I am 6 Foot tall and can walk anywhere within the tent stood straight with plenty of head room and the living area is larger than our living room at home ! Its sold as a 7 Berth tent and for a change it will sleep 7 adults with ease. As an addition the sun canopy is an extension to the tent itself and makes for a perfect area for cooking or just relaxing in the sun.

It can get warm inside but there is plenty of ventilation points including 3 doors that all have mesh coverings as an option. We have received numerous compliments on campsites already from admirers which is always good for the ego. :)

All in all I'd recommend anybody to look into buying this tent.

We went on holiday, tent was mega easy to put up with the help of our 3 kids. Had it up and all unpacked in hour n half. Also had very lovely weather all week. The only problem we had with this tent all week was the front porch skirts. They flapped in the wind, even pegging the skirts down it still flapped and drove me crazy. We are now looking for some clips to clip on and peg down. Other then that the tent was massive and we cant wait till next year to use it a lot more.

Bought the tent having viewed 40 or 50 at a tent show, to replace or ageing Wynnster Apollo. Having viewed many tents from the catalogue it was only by viewing all the tents at the same time you realise which really suits.

First time put up in the garden prior to the holiday, it does need some strength to lift the steel poles all at once. Much easier to erect once you realise you need to leave the back end poles a couple of feet past the back end of the tent before trying to lift the poles and walk the tent forward.

All in all it goes up at great speed with no real problems. (however in a stiff breeze it could be difficult put up in a headwind).

Massive internal area ,such an improvement having a sewn in ground sheet. Nice and cosy .

Very light with the window blinds open , and a good size canopy for sitting out under in the evening.

Bedroom pods have removable screens so you can play about with bedroom size if you wish but we didnt need to.

We bought the additional ground sheet for under the tent to protect it and stop the bottom getting muddy and it worked well .

We bought the Arkansas 7 extension , though in reality we could have done without it. The tent was plenty big enough without it.

I put it up just to see on the 2 bad weather days . It about doubled the living area .

Only down side was the hook over canopy piece on the extension did have a tendency to ride forward and droop and required adjusting about once a day.

No problems with zips or poles. All in all would recommend this tent , and a lot faster to erect than our old tent .

Outwell could do better with the pole bag, a sturdier bag or similar trolley for the poles would be useful.

Take a couple of bags of large rubber bands -to keep the poles together when packing away )

Hi all we have just brought this tent last week 26/9/2010. At first we was very disappointed as just assumed this tent was a polycotton. We have put this tent up 4 times to see if we could do it without help from others. The first 2 was a nightmare but it got easier after.

We have worked it out that if you put the curved poles in then the front legs and pull the tent up and peg the front guy it does make it easier to put the leg poles into the pins but boy is it hard to put up.

We are going on our first holiday in this tent tomorrow 20/9/2010 to Weymouth. Will post after the holiday to let you all know how the tent went. (hubby not totally happy with how hard it is to put up)

We have sent our Tent to Outwell in Denmark and they have fixed the zipper just in time for our holiday. (good service of Outwell and not of the dealer)

The tent was fantastic, we have put it 4 time's up with no problem at all.

We have survived a storm in Northern Italy with heavy winds and rain and even hail. We only stood one time outside with heavy wind and hold the tent by the poles. But nothing broke and no water came through. And then the living room space was a great pleasure.

On 2 camping sites we've only needed 2 places to place this large tent.

Unfortunately we had rain the last day and had to pack the tent wet in. At home I had to search a large shed to dry the tent, this took several days.

But all in all, its a great tent and we liked it a lot.

This is an amazing tent. Very easy to put up between two of you, with no arguments! We have have had two holidays in it now and both times have been a fab experience. We purchased the front awning which is very beneficial. We kept all cooking equip, fridge etc . . In it which meant we had more living space. Poles were very easy to put together, Outwell have changed them for the 10 model. Overall I would definitely recommend this tent to people who enjoy socialising and love space. Enjoy xxx
