4 Reviews of the Birdland Front Extension (Various)
By: Nuttyredlisa Reason: I own(ed) one Made in: 2014 Rating:
We bought this hoping it would fit our birdland 5 tent as the extension for this has now been discontinued. It does fit easily, so we are happy campers :-)
Adds extra undercover space for cooking, storage and hanging up wet gear.
Also protects and stops the rain getting into the tent via the sloping door of the tent.

Bought at same time as Tent from Go Outdoors using price match - great value well worth the internet trawl.
Essential extra to maximise usefulness of the tent.
LIKES -
Strong construction - ease of erection - essential for weather proofing entrance to tent - provides great outside storage/sitting area. Good size bag for packing away.
DISLIKES -
Front guy ropes spoil access to front (and make adding windshield tricky ( but needed for strength )
Guy rope pegs (fluorescent) look good but break or bend in hard ground.
WARNING - Because of sloping front of tent, useful area created by the Extension is about 50% of apparent useful area BUT benefit of door protection outweighs this apparent disadvantage

Just been away to try out the birdland 3 extension. It was easy to put up as video instructions from Outwell on you tube. However we found it was impossible to clip the plastic clip onto the rear of the extension to the ring where the pin was, as advised. We ignored this and managed without the clip.It stood up to very strong winds and rain.

The Birdland 3 Front extension(2012) on the original Birdland tent (2011) fits perfectly.
