2 Reviews of the Birdland S
By: Geeser Reason: I own(ed) one Made in: 2014 Rating:
I bought one in March of this year and the first I used it one of the shock cords in the poles snapped. We managed to get by for the weekend though. The dealer offered to fix it but we asked for some shock cord and fixed it myself rather than send it back.
The front part of the tent is quite small on its own, so the front extension is a must which converts the tent into a spacious living area.
We went to Belgium by the coast where it was blowing ( aftermath of hurricane Bertha ) and it was impossible to erect the extension, so had to wait until the next day. All the cooking equipment, fridge etc live in the extension, leaving the main tent uncluttered.
Great tent for two people but with the extension. Takes about 45 minutes to erect both. Quality is the usual Outwell standard.
Sturdy in the wind and waterproof even in heavy rain. Packs away quite easily at the storage bags are of a good size.

Lovely tent tried and tested in Wales in winds after ex hurricane Bertha. Stood up to rain and strong gusts well lost only one guy rope. Tent space is great for tow people but not sure about three people milling about in it.We bought the extension with the ten as gives much more space but could do with some sort of door on the front as the wind can whistle right through it but still stands flexible but strong. All poles are now on outside of tent so lots of clips and velcro which I hope will last a few years. I love it as it's large but still quite compact to store. Nothing flimsy about this tent!
