We had this tent 3 years and it’s just catastrophically failed. The air beam burst ripping a metre long hole in the tents outer fabric. We contacted Outwell who were totally unhelpful, they initially said they wouldn’t discuss it until they saw proof of purchase which we didn’t have with us as we were camping. Eventually once they agreed to even answer our emails they said as it was out of warranty they wouldn’t do anything. 3 years use out of a tent this expensive is really poor.

Having had a massive failure with the airbeams on my original Corvette and spending Ł50 on petrol and another Ł40 on the pitch only to have to return home I have received a brand new replacement The Corvette 7AC. I really do not have much confidence in this at all and wish they sent me a tent with proper poles.

We love this tent.I guess the two negative posts on here must've been unlucky.Yes, the advertised 12 mins to put up is a bit misleading, you can certainly have the tent upright in that time but pegging out takes longer, but why anyone would complain about too many guy lines/anchor points is beyond me, if you feel it doesn't need so many then don't use them.

We've used the tent on a couple of occasions now, the first time we had high winds, which the tent coped with brilliantly, my only gripe would be that the bedrooms aren't dark enough, unlike our old tent (Kampa Studland). Before we bought the tent we did a lot of research and visited numerous camping shops looking at the various tents on offer but we kept coming back to the Corvette, the negative views on here almost persuaded us to go for something else (possibly the Kampa Croyde)but we're so glad we didn't. The only negative for me, apart from the not dark enough bedrooms, is that there's no guy line from the top of the porch. One reviewer complained about toggles on the windows rather than zips I actually prefer the toggles.

After researching this tent extensively we decided on the Outwell 7ac for its size and supposed ease and speed of putting it up.

Our overall experience of using the tent was very disappointing.

Positives

The tent is huge and there is plenty of room for a family.

It is very attractive looking

Negatives

The boast of a 12 minute pitching time needs at least 1 hour adding due to the huge size of the tent and numerous pegs

2 of the beams continually lost air, therefore making the tent very unstable. We constantly had to inflate them.

The tent leaked in, particularly around the beams - after 2 days camping the whole of the tent was soaking inside and water was pooled around the base of the beams

The quality of the tent was very poor; stitching did not match up in visible areas and there were holes in some of the storage netting

Customer Service was extremely poor, it took time and numerous emails to get a refund

Outwell refused to give any compensation despite out holiday being ruined

Lesson learned - stick to Cabanon

Wow! I love this cave of a tent. It's light, airy and spacious and in our first two trips it dealt easily with really high winds and torrential downpours. It was as solid as a rock. We felt very secure.

The pump supplied makes for hard work but fine if you're young and fit. We've bought a Bravo 12V pump which does the job a lot easier and it goes up without much effort at all with one person standing inside and helping up the beams.

I like the front door which rolls back to wherever you want it rather than a roll up opening. I also like the flexibility of having a porch (we use ours for cooking) or a huge open space as the wall rolls right back. This is also useful at night, being able to close down the living area and make it cosier and warmer.

The porch area is like a conservatory with all its windows and ideal for breakfasts when the weather is not all it should be outside, or chilly evenings.

The bedroom (we use it as one) is huge. We can walk round the end of the bed instead of having to walk over it or go out one side and back in through the other.

I really like the toggle curtains as opposed to zips. Endless zipping first thing in the morning is a bit noisy!

It is useful having the electrical openings on both sides of the tent.

Packing away is easy - it always goes back in the bag the first time. It is a huge stuff-bag. Yes, a couple of wheels would have been useful and if you're not very strong then you might struggle with the weight of it.

The ceiling of the bedroom pod is dark BUT and this is a BIG but - the walls are white and in summer, the sun is blinding as it shines through. Even grey days light up the bedroom and we were awake at 4.30am! So, I spent another Ł65 on lightweight black fabric which I've sewn onto the three outside walls of the inner. This has solved the problem.

If it wasn't for the bright bedroom (and this may not be a problem for everyone), this fabulous tent would get a 10 out of 10 from me.

Our previous tent was an Outwell Montana 6P and we really didn't think we would find a tent to beat that one but we have.

Before I start, I would like to point out that previous Outwell tents owned include the Glendale 5 and the Georgia 5, so we are not new to Outwell. Previous reviews of both of these were 9/10.

The Corvette 7AC seemed to be our dream tent when we saw it pitched at the shop. We wanted to upgrade from the drudgery of a steel poled tent to something easier to pitch.

I had extensively researched the main manufacturers and this tent seemed to be best matched to what we wanted.

It looks sleek and had plenty of windows and light flooding in. The bedrooms are longer than the industry standard too.

Unfortunately it would appear that Outwell have rushed production of this tent in order to compete with other manufacturers and it shows.

Outwell were unable to provide us with enough pegs for all the pitching points, usually they are quite generous, with several pegs left in the bag after you have finished hammering pegs in to the various pitching points.

The pump provided is unlikely to last more than a couple of trips and it fell apart on first use, although fortunately we were able to reassemble it.

We suffered beam failure on our first pitch. No instructions provided as to how we might deal with such an occurrence.

Toggle curtains?? Outwell unable unwilling to provide us with zipped curtains at this price. Although in fairness we did spot this in the shop and having looked at so many airbeams this seemed like the only disadvantage.

We spent four nights on a campsite absolutely ashamed of our tent. A saggy beam meant we struggled to use the door. We were pitched next to a Wolf Lake and our tent looked dreadful in comparison.

The guy points did not have the reflective points as advertised. A small point but they tell you that it is a feature and then they don't provide it.

We took out tent back to the shop yesterday. They are going to send it away. We don't hold out much hope and worry we will be asking for a refund.

The tent cost us Ł1149 which included a free foot print. We regret not getting the Vango Illusion. Smaller bedrooms and less windows, but Vango seem to be the leaders with airbeams.

Our tent wobbled like a blancmange in the wind compared with a rock solid Vango airbeam pitched nearby.

The tent is more in keeping with something you would pay half the price for from a budget manufacturer.

Our Georgia comes in two bags. One for poles and one for the tent. The tent bag is sturdy and has wheels to cope with 27 kg. The Corvette (We knew it would come in one bag obviously) weighs 37 kg and not a wheel in sight. The bag provided is like a gigantic duffle bag. Why put wheels on 27kg and not on this beast?

Outwell, you have disappointed us with this badly manufactured tent.

I am hoping that the faults mentioned can be rectified, because in theory the tent is beautiful, but in practice I think Outwell have cut costs significantly with cheap manufacturing.
