2 Reviews of the Delaware 5
By: Garfield2 Reason: I've used one Made in: 2012 Rating:
I've now used the tent and we were really happy with it. We used it in June during heavy rain and our tent was perfectly dry. The main living area was perfectly big enough for the four of us. My two children are 9 and 13. The front area stored all our kitchen items, pop up storage cupboard, shoes and hanging rack. This kept the sleeping area and lounge area very tidy. I did buy the hanging storage from Argos to hang from one of the rails which was a great storage item to keep things off the floor. The two hanging rails were brilliant for drying our clothes and towels. The tinted windows gave a really good bit of privacy but allowed light in. The zip up curtains were also handy. I'm glad we didnt buy the carpet for the front area as it was so much easier to clean when we ended up with muddy clothes. The only down side with this tent is the time it takes to pitch it but I'm sure we will get the knack of it. This is why I gave it 9/10. We've managed to get the knack of taking it down and can now get it to fit into the carry bag easily. We found leaning on the tent to get the air out while you are in the process of rolling it up helps. I would definitely recommend this tent for a family.

I've just purchased this tent after a great deal of research. It fills all the requirements we have and a few more. We are two adults and with two children and will all fit really well in the tent. The living area is nice and big and I particularly like the separate front panoramic room which is ideal to store the kitchen area and mucky stuff. I also liked the idea of being able to zip off the front awning part and make it like a canopy instead. Especially if you need to make the tent a bit smaller for a pitch.
I was initially concerned about the size and contacted the caravan and camping club to find out about the size of tents on their pitches. They assured me that provided the tent is below 8m x 5m it should fit on most of their pitches. I also read reviews on big tents and most people seemed to say that the footprint of this tent should not be a problem on most pitches.
When viewing this tent at my local yeomans I noticed the difference of tinted windows and plain windows. These tinted windows really do add a bit of extra security and privacy but because the windows are big, the tinting does not comprise the level of light into the tent.
The two hanging rails are really good too. I will be going to Argos or looking on the Internet for hanging storage to keep our stuff tidy. The hanging storage is approx £10 as opposed to a £49 hangable bag from Outwell.
Although you can get a carpet for the living area and the panoramic room we only opted to get the one for the living room as the other area may get a bit mucky. It will be easier to clean the zip out ground sheet in that area than a carpet.
I hope this review is useful as I couldn't find any reviews on this tent as it is so new.
I will leave a further review after we have used hhe tent in June.

Manufacturer's Description
Sleeps up to five in the flamboyant AvantGarde style, the all-new Delaware 5 has a Panorama Room at the front that is just perfect for sitting in and admiring the views all around. Plus, the front can be fully zipped off when the weather is right. This four-room tunnel tent has a 3+2 Universal Inner at the back which can also be zipped open for a single, large bedroom. The spacious living area has Tinted Windows as well as Zip-up Curtains for extra privacy and style, plus useful Drying Rails to both sides in the Panorama Room. There are also two Additional Side Doors. Pitching is straightforward – flysheet first or as one – and the Delawares also benefit from OWS System (Outwell Wind Stabilizer System) for utmost stability, as well as all the usual Outwell accoutrements like Luminous Guylines.
Recommendation: All the features and style of the Delaware 7, but just that bit lighter and more compact, for families of up to five.
