4 Reviews of the Florida 5
By: Sue Welford Reason: I own(ed) one Made in: 2010 Rating:
We bought this tent to replace a similar sized tunnel tent which we really liked but tended to bend in the wind. The reviews about Outwell suggested we should try this. We have been really pleased. We have now used it twice. Firstly in early June for three nights when my son and I went up to Yorkshire. We put it up easily and it stood up to both wind and rain. We used the footprint but have not bought the carpet. We had plenty of space in the main tent and were really comfortable.
We have just returned from a family holiday on the Pembrokeshire coast. Plenty of wind, rain and sun! Tent worked fantastically. The main part of the tent was spacious for the three of us and all our stuff! We also used the front awning for the first time and this really added to the space - however it was not as sturdy in the almost gale force winds we had on one day - so we took it down.
Another really good aspect of this tent is that my son is over 6ft 6ins tall and can still stand in this tent. There is plenty of light in the tent and with the arrangements of the curtains you can easily just have them half way so that you can still see out yet have shade lower down. The fly screen for the rear access and for the windows either side of the door to the porch ensure that there is good ventilation.
The tent is straight forward to put up for two people. The pole bag is really heavy - so take care lifting it - but the tent and the footprint fit in the wheeled trolley bag which is easily manoeuvrable.
A really great tent which we look forward to enjoying for many other holidays.

Upgraded to this tent from a Hartford M, couldn't be more pleased. The canopy on the front is great for cooking under, living area is great we have had 7 adults sat inside all on chairs with room to spare and 6 kids in playing in sleeping area. Loads of light inside tent, hanging rails inside and out are great. Stands up to the wind well, and kept us dry through an absolute deluge one weekend

We upgraded to a stronger tent and chose the Florida 5 after reading the specifications on many similar tents. We were not disappointed, Outwell are renowned for excellence and lived up to their reputation with this tent. It can be erected by two people and is sturdy, spacious, and well designed. All in all extremely pleased with our choice.

Sorry the photo's are not the best, Taken in Devon in April and May. What can I say about this tent, Other than Fantastic. Great tent ,large living area, Large front door the flat front makes a big difference ( coming from a Montana 6). We also brought the front extension awning in May,Added miles of living area. Couldn't find fault in the Florida 5. The rear door with fly screen was great to open when very hot. Loads of panoramic windows, Plenty of light. Very easy to put up with 2 people.
