We are a family of 3 and one large dog and this tent is perfect for us. There's plenty of room in both bedrooms for a good size bed in each. The living room is massive, we manage to fit a large wardrobe, fridge, small storage cupboard and two large lay down fishing beds (we like comfort) and still have room for our 2 yr old daughter to run around. The kitchen again is large enough for two large kitchen tables and still have plenty of room for 2 adults to be stood cooking in there. It's a massive tent with enough head height but I can't see it being large enough for 5 people, it would be a bit tight space wise.
It's light and airy with plenty of large windows, plenty of little storage pockets and light clips to hang lighting from.
Over all we love this tent and have been on about 8 holidays with it and it's still in a really good condition. We have washed and re proofed it but this should be done with all tents that are used regularly.

New to camping but went with the Glendale 5 Mocha as the layout worked best for us (2 adults). Also treated ourselves to the footprint and carpet. Very happy with the tent, does have one annoyance, the groundsheet in the porch area toggles in, kept me awake as the wind really whips through it, also, bugs free to climb in! hence the 9/10. Easy to put up (although we didn't find it AS easy as the YouTube demo), overall very pleased.

Excellent tent as is typical from Outwell these days.
We bought this one as a weekend tent as it is similar in style to our Vermonth XLP and have just ordered the side extension for this one too.
Brilliant space for 2 of us just a little smaller scale than the XLP.
My only issue (and it is only a minor one and I suppose I am comparing it to the XLP) is the windows, don't like the toggle, prefer the zip but it is a minor issue and does not detract form the overall size and comfort of this tent.
Perfect for us for weekends or short trips, lounge area plenty big enough to be comforatble in and the bedrooms (2 of them) can be zipped into one to create one large bedroom.
The front 'porch' area is a great space and ideal for cooking.
We did not receive any king poles with the tent but not an issue as you can buy then pretty cheap.
Easy to pitch took the two of us just over 40 minutes
Brilliant tent for the price we paid - Outdoor megastore best discounted tents we have found.

Negatives first (as there's only a few): -
Nowhere to hang a light in the front section
Not keen on the front section groundsheet not being built in (the wind blowing underneath is annoying)
Plastic pegs that come with the tent bent quite easily - will definitely be purchasing some more metal ones
The doorway between the front and middle section if only opened half way has no ties to hold it in place
Now for the positives: -
Much easier to put up than our last tent - good video on the Outwell website
Very spacious - we used the front section for all our cooking stuff so for once I was able to cook under cover along with kicking off the wet, muddy shoes and storing all the BBQ stuff and tent bag etc.
The main area is huge - there was only the 3 of us (2 adults and one child) so we are now going to purchase a wardrobe as there is plenty of room for it along with the table and chairs.
The two bedrooms have loads of room for double airbed in each with still room at the side so you're not climbing out of bed and hitting the side of the tent. It has plenty of head height even in the bedrooms.
We have the mocha tent and it is nice and light inside although in the morning this is not such a good thing. Maybe nice if the bedrooms were a bit darker (although the little slept in past everyone else).
If it wasn't for the few niggles I would have given this 10 out of 10 (I'm sure people who design these tents don't go camping!)

Simply marvellous tent.
Family of Mum, Dad and 4 yr old.
Tent was just the right size for us, with table and chairs in main living area and then we had the kitchen and shoes in the porch area.
The tent is a light brown colour. From the outside, it looks very stylish with all those typical Outwell flourishes. The luminous guys are fab and for extra detail they have put luminous strips alongside the zips too. Outwell tent designers are obviously campers too! From the inside it is light and spacious, even with the windows closed. Once the windows are opened (even if you only open half of them) the light floods in.
We found it easy to pitch, although we did our homework before purchase and had read reviews on here and watched the pitching videos too.
Taking down was equally easy, even getting it in the bag was relatively easy.
The internal layout had been well thought out. A slightly bigger bedroom on one side. This suited us fine with two adults in bigger bedroom and son in smaller one. The enclosed porch was really good, with space to take off wet gear before going into main tent area.
Our only gripe with this tent is the ground sheet for the porch area is detachable and held in place with a few toggles. A sewn or zip in groundsheet would have been a more practical option. Hence only 9/10 on marks.
We are thinking about buying the side door awning/extension for next year.
Would definitely recommend.

We purchased our Glendale last year, its our fifth tent - increasing in size each time we bought one. Thought the Vermont XL was just too big for us, family of three plus two dogs. We have just returned from a ten day holiday with an extra body - our sons friend, both 12yrs old. Still had plenty of space, cooking in porch plus used as a wet area, the inner living section - Outwell table and 4 chairs, wardrobe, camping fridge, dog pen, table for everyday items still did not feel cramped. During massive down pores no leaks (the same as last year), carpet is a massive bonus, looking to purchase side extension - shame no front one available. We would highly recommend this tent, even hanging a light and having cable not dangling down owing to the ties was a simple but effective addition. Will agree with others; the ten pegs after being used five times are starting to bend but in the scheme of things this is a minor problem. My wife and I put up the tent without hassle, used the video on Outwell site to remind us the procedure, collapsing it was very simple, my son in particular loves rolling along the tent to remove air trapped! Again, fantastic tent, could do with a front extension being made available and would recommend people have a look at one.

We bought this tent because it has a porch area so we wouldn't need to take 2 tents with us camping and could replace our Nevada M for longer trips away. We had our first trip in June and found the tent to be up to the usual Outwell high standards. No problems experienced with leaks and it took quite a pounding from wind and rain in scenic Derbyshire.
The only gripe we have is that we found it more difficult to erect the Glendale than the Nevada M. The helpful Outwell pitching video does not show in detail the process of inserting the pins into the bottom of the steel poles. We found it very difficult to get the second pin in after inserting the first; there just didn't seem to be enough 'stretch' to get the pins in easily. We eventually got it sorted with assistance from 2 people on the campsite!
Apart from this we really liked the Glendale 5 tent. The porch area is brilliant for cooking and storage. The living area is spacious, light and airy and there are no problems with condensation. All in all a good investment.

I'm new here and because I'm Dutch I will certainly make some mistakes in my writing, sorry for that. We owned a heavy cotton Dutch tunneltent which we always really liked but because of health problems it took too much strength for the two of us to get the long rounded poles through the very long sleaves and to pitch. Because of that we decided to sell our cotton tent and we went to look for a lighter,polyester tent. After a lot of searching and comparing we decided to go for the Outwell Glendale 5 because of the size (about the same as our previous tent), the built-in porch area for our cooking gear,the sig so you can pitch it all-in-one, only short pole-sleaves on the roof and the rest of the tent you hook to the poles and the fact that it has 1 big bedroom with a divider, and we very much liked the look of it. And because of the good reviews it got here. After comparing prices I decided to order it online by World of Camping ( last September) and after 2 days the tent was delivered.
We're back now from our first camping-trip with the Glendale and we are still very happy. We always go camping in Southern- France and I was a bit afraid that a polyester tent would be too hot and give much condensation after a night's sleep but none of that happened. For a couple of days we had very strong winds blowing because of the Mistral but the tent stood very sturdy and no rattling at all. It is light and spacious, big enough for a family of 4. Even our big airbed ( 1,62 m.) fitted nicely in the biggest bedroom. The only downside are the plastic pegs, we replaced them by steal ones.
We are glad we decided to go for the Glendale 5 and we can recommend it to anyone.

We have now used this new tent on several occasions. We bought the Glendale to replace our Carolina as a short break tent. The Carolina was excellent, easy to pitch but with only one bedroom pod our toilet had to reside in the main living area. The Glendale is mocha coloured like the Carolina and pitches in a similar way which appealed to us. The tent has two bedrooms (a three and a two) we are able to fit our queen-size Aerobed in the larger of the pods with our heads at the rear of the tent (we had to set the bed cross ways in the Carolina). The second bedroom we use for the toilet and dressing area. There is plenty of ventilation to the sleeping pods from the vent at the rear (with storm-flap) and two large vents at the top of the pod zip up doors. There are pockets in each pod for oddments.
The main living area is big, plenty for the two of us but may not be enough for five. There is plenty of ventilation and window area which gives a bright and airy feel to the tent. There is a doorway off the living space to the outside which has a toggle up sheet and mesh which is nice when hot, allowing you to roll up or peg out as a canopy whilst keeping the mesh zipped up. All windows in the tent have toggle up sheets which allows you to put the curtain full up, half up and rolled completely down.
As with over reviewers the front porch area of the tent makes it for us, it gives us a wet room if required as the groundsheet in this area is a bathtub type which is not sown in (the rest of the tent has a SIG). We enjoy sitting in this front porch area and watching the world go by. It is very versatile, if cold we can zip the partition between the porch and living area closed and zip closed the two large vents in this partition. Or the partition can be be rolled completely back giving a huge living area. The porch has panoramic windows and a front door that can be rolled up or pegged out using king poles as a canopy. The only niggle we have is with this door at the bottom, it would be nice to have some form of attachment to the groundsheet to stop the draft blowing in when windy.
On our last trip the weather was terrible whilst we pitched the tent, heavy rain and high winds but the two of us managed to pitch it. During the night the weather continued to be dreadful but the tent didn't move and was completely dry inside.
Another niggle is again with the front door zip which can snag on the outer tent material (we had a similar problem with the Carolina) and has in our case damaged the flysheet and one of the front guy points. Not a big problem and one we can repair easily but you have to be careful when unzipping the door. One final point which may help others, when pitching the tent make sure that the inner partition is zipped closed (between the porch and main living area) if not you may have problems zipping this sheet up later because when pegging the bottom of the flysheet it can drag the zip apart.
Overall and despite the small problems we love this tent and would possibly replace with the same if we had to.

Last year we decided that we needed to update our tent and liked the Outwell range. We almost bought the Montana from GO Outdoors but decided to go home and think about it.
On the way home we called into a Garden centre that had a tent display on and we came across the Glendale 5. What we loved about this tent was the separate enclosed porch area which looked ideal for muddy boots/ muddy dog and an area to cook in and the useful pockets for storing all the niff naff and trivia.
On our return home we ordered one on line but ran out of weekends last year so it remained unused until last week.
Last week was the first week in June 2012, the rain and wind were not conducive to a pleasant camping experience. However regardless what the weather threw at us the tent performed exceptionally well, far and above my expectations. Whilst other tents were flooded out and almost blown away we sat in the superior confines of the Glendale 5 watching the saga unfold whilst sipping tea. The porch area was ideal for all the muddy shoes and dog, as we entered we just kicked off our shoes and stepped into the main tent and put on our slippers. The carpet made the whole interior warm and inviting and the footprint added extra insulation. At no time did the carpet ruck up. Also when we packed up to leave the underside of the tent was as clean as when we set up all thanks to the footprint. My only gripe with this tent are the plastic pegs, I attempted to hammer my first plastic peg into average ground conditions only for it buckle almost instantly. Luckily I'd already read the reviews reference the pegs and had taken along the metal pegs from my old tent. Also the tent easily fits back in the bag even when wet. If you are a family of 4-5 looking for the perfect family tent then look no further, this is the tent for you.
