3 Reviews of the Imagine

Excellent family tent, just took it on its first outing to the Lake District with our two small children (1 and 3), survived gale force winds, rain and hail, with no problems at all. Plenty of space, children loved the childrens room, plenty of space in the main area to eat / play. Useful porch area. Also had the front extension which meant could have the front of the tent open in the rain. Would also recommend the carpet - makes a big difference for children needing to play inside during rainy periods. Took about an hour to set up with 2 of us juggling 2 small children as well, should get quicker with practice.

We have found our ideal tent for family holidays! We have just used this for the first time for a weekend camp. The weather turned cold, windy and it rained pretty much the whole time but this was not a problem. We had plenty of space in the tent for our table and 4 chairs so we could eat in the tent. There was still room to store all our things and room for the children to play. The tent was completely waterproof and felt very solid in the wind. We have the Imagine carpet too – so we were nice and cosy despite the cold outside.
It took us around an hour to get the tent and the Imagine Extension up – but next time it will take less as we know what we are doing now. Very straightforward to put up and usual Outwell features like the guy rope retainers (Velcro bits to stop the guy ropes tangling up in storage) reduce any hassle. Only minor thing is we would have preferred metal pegs not plastic ones.
Our children (aged 6 and 10) really appreciated the kids room and spent a lot of time there together and with new friends they had made at the campsite. We all played the ‘On-ur-back-basket ball’ – though the kids kept changing the scoring system so they always won! The kids room was generally a big hit – they like the child sized door, the jungle/dino print, the hanging shelf for their mini basket balls, head torches etc and the starry sky above them when in bed.
In the brief periods when the rain stopped the children were able to play with the games wall which comes with the tent. We decided to set this up as a target wall in front of the tent and our children had a great time playing with friends. The wall is a clever design as it can also be set up as a volley ball or tennis net (the tent comes with a games pack – football and pump, soft bats and ball, soft frisby), either on poles or on the side of the tent.
The tent has a generous fully enclosed side porch which was very useful for storing wet shoes. We were pleased to see this had metal poles – more durable than the fibreglass ones which can split. The tent has loads of internal pockets in the bedrooms and inside the tent so it’s easier to stay organised. We have the Imagine Extension too – which was brilliant for cooking under out of the rain.
This is a great tent for a family holiday for a week or more as there is space for everything and everyone. Very good quality as we have found with Outwell tents in the past, and we are looking forward to using this again – in the sun next time though!

As a very happy owner of a Montana 6. Is this not the same but in blue? Having paid £400 early last year for it - I'm amazed that this is so expensive - admittedly with the kids wall and bedroom, but still a lot and with a much lower hydrostatic head too! I love my monty, but I don't think I'd be happy having paid so much more for this.

Manufacturer's Description
With a name like Imagine, it’s easy to see why tents like this are so popular with young children. Ideal for families of up to six, but most likely to appeal to foursomes who prefer additional space to themselves, Imagine is a three-room tunnel tent in Outtex® 4000 with galvanised Steel Poles and an ability to stand up to windier extremes thanks to the latest OWS System (Outwell Wind Stabilizer System). There is three-door access here, including a Rain-Safe side door. Popular Outwell features abound, but it is the Kids Room and Outdoor Game Wall and Game Set that have instant appeal to younger children, while adults are more likely to appreciate the easy pitching, generous ventilation and standing room, and features such as Dry Zip System with luminous piping and OEP System (Outwell Easy Pegging System).
Recommendation: For families with a sense of fun who enjoy a bit of extra space.
