Just an update. Our Indiana 6 going strong still !
Admittedly after the 1st couple of years we had a small frying pan incident that scorched a few inches of mesh inside. Scored a replacement flysheet off ebay within a few week for peanuts. Used that for a few years - then finally got round to repairing the original.
Ended up using the replacement fly to customise the original.Added some sides to the front canopy and some additional storage pockets inside. Does a few weekends each year and the occasional longer stint.
Its withstood gales in the UK and abroad and never leaked. The steel poles / lightweight fly are just so robust.
Every year I look at the options.And decide we literally cant do better without spending a small fortune .And Outwell.Bring back the blue in the upper ranges and you might tempt me!

Having owned and used our Indiana 6 since 2007 I highly recommend it. We would probably buy something new if only we could find a better combination of features/quality that made it feel like an upgrade.
In all weathers its been ideal and has never felt like it would fail - Even in the face of a gale on the Brittany coast. I like the combination of lightweight material and strong steel poles. The poles are all the same, so no messing about when pitching working out what goes where. Pitching is quick and easy - can be done single handed but is even easier with 2.
We now use it with a Montana 6 canopy to give a huge covered area at the front which we love.

This was our first ever tent and was remarkably easy to put up - considering we had no idea what we were doing. Took us about an hour - but that was in part due to the strong winds. At one point I was lying on the tent to prevent it flying off while my partner put in the tent pegs as quickly as possible. Agree with everyone else on the sturdiness of this tent. We had extreme gales/torrential rain and the tent stayed in place. Eventually gave up when we realised that a lake was forming around us - and it would be a good idea to leave fast. Although it is billed as a 6 berth, we would only use it for the 4 of us - anymore would be too crowded. The instructions mentioned sealing the seams - which we had not done prior to the trip. We did have some leakage just before we packed up - but this was due to the extreme nature of the weather and I think will be fine once we have resealed the seams. All in all a great tent - kids loved it, will go again soon in nicer weather.

We decided to buy this tent after seeing one on display at an exhibition and then reading the great reviews. There are 3 of us and it gives our little 3 yr old plenty of room to play in if it rains. The bedrooms are roomy and the awning at the front is great. Our tent arrived only a couple of days before we were due to go on holiday and with all the rain we weren't able to have a go at pitching it before we went. We managed with it quite well. It is a bit on the heavy side (but the trolley bag it comes in is a big help). We too can verify that it stands up really well in strong winds and rain. We were staying near to Cardigan on a large field near the headland and we had 2 nights of bad weather. The tent never moved and we have complete faith in it for future trips whatever the weather.

I have to agree with rabbott and blondie about the sturdiness of the indy 6 our stood firm when other tents have been blown away. We always seem to get at least one night of stormy weather when we go! My husband cant always go with us when we decide on a couple of nights away so it is left to me and my 11yr old daughter to erect the tent, which we have managed very successfully, we have now got it down to a fine art. Bags of room. This is a brill tent and we love it.

We have had smaller dome tents in the past, before we were married and were just kids ourselves. Now that we have 3 children of our own we needed a much bigger tent. We decided on a tunnel tent, after seeing them at campsites they seemed most practical and Outwell seemed to be the best quality. I am happy to say we were not disappointed with this model. It is not the easiest tent to put up and I practically have to do it myself while the wife keeps the kids corralled. The poles are heavy and to be honest it is a bit of a struggle with 2 people, on your own there is serious danger of a hernia. This was put to the test setting up on a windy hill in Cornwall, I was just about ready to throw in the towel when a fellow camper came to help (one of the things we like about camping). With his help we were able to get the outer shell up and shelter untill better weather. The point is, although it not easy to put up it stays up. That holiday was very windy we saw other tents collapse and people cut short their break but ours stood firm. I give this tent 8 out of 10 and not 10/10 simply because when we put it up the very first time some of the stitching came apart where the inner tent hangs on the toggles attached to the outer shell. It didn't concern me too much and it hasn't got any worse so I didn't mention it to the retailer which annoyed my wife. Between you and me I probably should have been more careful setting up. Anyway we love it. Lots of space lots of light, no regrets.

This was my first tent last year (2007)I love it! It is a bit tricky to put up with metal poles being so heavy and the ring and pin system. But the plus side is you don't worry about the wind, it is one solid tent. With the front of tent and side being straight up you don't lose any floor space inside which is a bonus. It has a bathtub groundsheet in the living area and fully enclosed in the bedrooms so no bugs or draughts. The front canopy which is included is a good feature, coupled with the additional side canopy £70ish makes this a splendid purchase.
