10 Reviews of the Kids Room

We used this in our monty 6. Big mistake on part of outwell to discontinue this idea because like the others it was this that finally swung it to buying an outwell. This is a fantastic idea and the kids LOVED it. Only ever used the little 'kids' door and as the others have said we were not allowed to open the room up beyond this! My 2 girls played with the ball game lots. Brilliant purchase

Brilliant idea we took our grandchildren camping for the firs time last week they loved it . Bedtimes were so simple with the kids room . The net and balls in the ceiling kept them quiet for ages .We got ours for free from our local camping shop because it was damaged a bit of work with the sewing machine and it was soon sorted .

OK the Grandkids are only 18 months but you know how it is. Found one on EBAY as my NORFY is discontinued (big mistake Outwell) Fits in place of the left-hand bed pod (this half rolls down, even has securing straps) Fits without hassle and looks really cool, thought our little treasures might be a bit freaked out with the graphics, but they loved it! Managed to fit in two travel cots. Still has the storage pockets down the front, and includes a game net for the ceiling and three soft balls and a toy hanger. Has a main door with a smaller 'kids only' zip door incorporated!

Now only available on the gaudy 2010 'magic' series (Outwell used to make them for most tents in their range) another mistake in my opinion. If you can find one go for it the kids will love it!

My little boy loves this. Bought the Outwell Montana 6, just so he could have one, although it was our favourite tent, but it swung it. He loves it, taken it out and looked at it. Haven't been in it yet, cant wait for our first trip to go in it. Might even sleep in there myself, it looks ace! He loves the ball and the space to store toys will be great.

It was this that swung the family towards choosing an Outwell tent, and it was a great decision. The kids loved it (ages 6 and 8). It was darker than a normal room, so they slept longer. But they could still read in there during the day. It was cosy. It was theirs. And they adored the little entrance - they never used the other one, and wouldn't let us either. The balls were used endlessly in every game they played. A really good buy.

What a fantastic idea to give your children a room with a difference. We used our's for the first time a couple of weeks ago, I did half think that it could just be a 'gimmick' but I was wrong, my 3 & 5 year old loved it.

Easy to put in, big enough to fit a double air bed in with room all around. The little mouse hole they can use to get in and out was great fun. The soft balls were well used, not just in the kids pod but outside too.

Overall it gives a much more child friendly atmosphere and a place to have lots of fun in. After all Tenting is for all the family and if this gives a little bit of extra fun for your little ones when you are on holiday, which I think it does then it is well worth the money.

We took the air bed out during the day so they could use the space to play games.

Putting them to bed at night seemed easier as they were very happy to stay in the pod, and being able to leave just the mouse trap door open until we went to bed made me feel they were not going to get too cold.

Well done Outwell.

We've just used the kids room for the first time this weekend and was a huge success. The kids loved it. Our tent is a Montana 6 and there was plenty of room for 2 airbeds in their room with extra space between them. Our kids couldn't wait to show off to other children on the campsite who all seemed to love it. A great buy - looks so cosy in there.

We have literally just received our Vermont XL Kids Room this morning. It was very easy to install, the Children love it. There's plenty of room for both their airbeds with room around them both so it's a 10/10 for us! (Children are ages 7 & 3)

Well I have just purchased this as we have a 7 year old Son & a 3 year old Daughter.

The main reason being that I have read reviews that the 'black out' ceiling making the morning light less visible to them means that the children will hopefully wake up at a reasonable time.

I think it may be a bit of a 'gimmick' but I'm hoping that the children will really enjoy it & maybe even look forward to bed time!

I shall write an ind epth review as soon as we use it for our 2 week camping trip from the 16th August.

Wow, does my son love his room (8 years old). Great design with a sneaky little entrance for children only and a great ball game. The fabric design is very unisex and interesting so would suit either boys or girls equally. Dark coloured ceiling prevents early rising! My 14 year old daughter was quite envious

Manufacturer's Description

The manufacturer has advised that this model has been discontinued.

The NEW Outwell Kids Room has taken children and their parents by storm! Last year’s successful launch has more than proved that kids love having their own room when the family goes camping.
Having their own inner tent with a zip door at their own height gives children an immense
amount of pleasure. They love having their own space – their own bedroom, playroom and getaway. And inside the Kids Room, there is a roomy mesh organiser pocket where they can stow their toys and other treasured personal possessions.
The Kids Room is a retreat where children can curl up with a book, or the perfect place for inviting Mom or Dad in for a heart-to-heart. They can also challenge friends and playmates to a game of on-ur-back basketball, using the net goals mounted on the
ceiling. Numbers on the ceiling make score-keeping easy, and a set of three soft, light balls for the game is included with the purchase of every Kids Room.
Equally popular with boys and girls, jungle-themed Kids Room quickly becomes a favourite daytime haunt, its friendly colours making it a standing invitation to no end of holiday fun and adventure. And when night falls, the ceiling turns into a star-filled sky that inspires and induces the sweetest holiday dreams.
