2 Reviews of the Missouri River 7
By: Boothy Reason: I own(ed) one Made in: 2010 Rating:
Having had too many broken nights sleep in our previous Polyester tent on breezy nights, I decided to go for this one, for it's Polycotton construction (NO plastic-bags-blowing-in-the wind sound, at night!). Glad we did too. Obviously a better nights sleep - well tried out on the first windy 3 nights in Crantock this July. Occasional creak from the new joints initially, which settled quickly.
The space inside is very generous. It's actually a few centimetres higher than the specs of 2M (see pic above). Windows and doors are excellent. Loved sitting at the front in the evenings - views to the side as well as to the front. Easy to change the doors / windows to the vented mesh on 5 of them.
Bedroom head height was great too . No ducking down as you move around in there, all the way to the side edges (as the pole hoops are pretty much vertical rather than at a steep angle).
If there are any left when you read this - go and buy it. I've tried a few large tents over the years, and this is my/our favourite home from home so far.
One comment about pitching. DON'T peg all four corners. Just the side nearest where you erect the first ''hoop'' pole. Gather the other poles together, which pulls the opposite end of the tent towards you a little. Walk back after hauling up the first pole, and place others into position. Pull the back of the tent straight, and THEN peg the corners, then the rest. Done.

Have used now on 4 trips this year, including Spain for a total of 28 nights this year.
Excellent tent, although expensive.
Good points
Breathable as cotton - Great in the hot Spanish climate - No condensation or feeling of hard breathing as per nylon
Well constructed and sturdy, good sized strong poles
Roomy, we are 2 adults and 2 children and tent is good size
Bad points
Weight
Size when packed - huge, being cotton
No canopy add on - come on Outwell
Cost - We bought tent, footprint and carpet and it was £900
Overall very very happy and it seems to withstand the abuse my 3 and 6 year olds give it
